Ember Temperature Control Mug 2, 10oz & 14oz

I bought one of these but forgot to include the coupon code, and it’s outside the “cancel” window!

DOH!

Don’t forget the coupon code like I did, wooters!

You could email CS and ask if they’ll make an adjustment for you. It never hurts to ask.

(Please Note: I’m not employed by Woot, but I volunteer to help in the forums.)

Thanks, I did… just wanted to remind folks so they wouldn’t forget like I did!

I purchased one of these as a christmas gift last year, it broke pretty much right away, their customer service is horrible, they take MONTHS to reply or just stop replying at all. They promised me back in March that they’d replace it, but never sent me the info on how to return it or how to get the new one. STAY AWAY

I’ve bought these in the past. They are nice when they work that isn’t a given. I’ve had two charging bases die, (pogo pins stop pogo-ing) very common and $35 each for replacements. Contacted the company about replacements, which they have a process for on the website, but never heard back. Then the mug wouldn’t hold a charge. I’ve given up on them.

I have bought 2 different “dumb” temperature controlled mugs with temp control buttons directly on the mugs. I have yet to want throw them against the wall like I did with the Ember.

I have one and the app is horrible and makes it pretty unusable. It forgets your pairing almost immediately, so you have to do a full reset to get the mug reconnected.
It’s a shame because it genuinely was a cool device I used every day, but the app is so bad I gave up with it

I have a few of these as well and agree that the app on Android is ridiculously horrible and unusable. From a corporate perspective, it’s really unacceptable and Ember should fix it. Probably why so many of these end up on eBay and/or refurbished here & elsewhere.

However, if you have an iPhone I have found it works right, every time. Fortunately I have one for work that I downloaded the Ember app to and never have a problem connecting the mugs. There’s information online that talks about why this is the case, but I don’t understand enough about Bluetooth to explain it.

These are great mugs for keeping things hot in the winter

The offical app is terrible, but there is one made by a programmer who felt the same way that works much better. It is called Ember Supreme. I highly recommend.

Bought this from Kohls. It never worked…ever. You can have refurbished or refurbished; choice is yours!

Does refurbished mean there will be no coffee stains on it?

I would assume so but if you’re unhappy with what you receive, Woot customer service will help you with a return within 30 days of purchase.

My former boss was so used to reheating her coffee in the microwave…yup, she accidentally fried it. I’m sticking with the ceramic mug I’ve had a work for years.

Is this induction plate? I know older elderly people like to hold the mug from the bottom, like cupping it with their hand, is the bottom scolding hot aftern lifting it off the coaster?

Not at all. The heating element is on the bottom, but inside the mug. All the electronics and the battery are underneath that, so if you like to hold the bottom of the mug (I do) it just feels like a normal mug. The base is only for charging the mug’s internal battery. I love mine again now that they’ve sorted out the new iPhone app.

This has been my experience exactly. I’ve used my sage green 14 ounce Ember mug to maybe 200 times and I absolutely love it. It has work flawlessly, and for slow drinkers it is a godsend.

The problem with the Ember iphone app is that it’s clunky and slow and frustrating and… actually infuriating. For something I use every day, it takes twice as long as it should, with too many extra taps. Why in the hell does Ember allow their mediocre software to continue for so long despite the 3.4 rating in the iOS appstore?

Fortunately for me it always “works“ without fail, but it has obviously been designed by a marketer, not a U.I. specialist, ffs

this is a good one

I received my mug yesterday and was quite disappointed with its condition. The mug arrived dirty, and the charging rings were corroded. I tried giving it a thorough manual wash and scrubbed the corroded area. While I was able to remove most of the corrosion, the charging rings are now scratched from the scrubbing.

I’ll be starting the return process and will report back on how it goes.
Very disappointing experience overall.

Yeah, that sucks, sorry for your experience… Here’s the part where I’d put in the blurb about contacting CS, but you got it handled. Gross, sorry.
