Gourmet Coffee Cafe Single Serving Coffeemaker with Free Coffee

I agree, what do you do about replacement pods? Are they a universal thing?

Don’t tell me, you love Dunkin’ Donuts coffee.

There is no company support for this coffee maker, i finally found their website. Here is what they are saying…

“NHT Global has determined to cease distributing, selling or promoting the Gourmet Coffee Café product line. As an organization, we have determined our efforts are best spent concentrating and focusing on our core products within the skin care, lifestyle and health and wellness industries.”

looks nice tho, not sure if there was a production problem with this coffee maker so they stop making it. not bad of a price. hummm thinking…

I’m not much of a coffee drinker but I do love tea…also the milk steamer made this worth it for me…I’m in for one! I figured once I got it if I didn’t like it I would send it to my parents…they are big time coffee drinkers!

Is the coffee kosher?

How about a wonderful French Press for less than $10 and use the coffee of your choice. http://www.dealextreme.com/details.dx/sku.760 and the filter is reusable.

Refills are around:

Nice… but what happens when I run out of the “no-name” 72 pods? Then that means I have “no-name” to go by when I look for replacement pods… so… WOOT… when yer gunna offer a pack of 1,000 wootpods for $10 (and $5 shipped of course…)

…all kidding aside, I’ll pass on the “no-name” stuff and besides I have a Capresso brand cofeemaker.

based on a quick and dirty search, it seems that Woot is selling the coffee pods at a more or less average price… and giving the machine away.

$15 to $25 seems about average, depending on quality for the same number of pods.

so what the hell, seems like a decent price for a 3 weeks worth of coffee.

C’mon now, $19.99 plus $5 shipping divided by 72 cups of coffee is only 0.34708333333333333333333333333333 a serving. How bad can it be?

I almost Wooted this, but here is an old REVIEW that changed my mind.

As I said before and as others have said since, I will bet that the refillable plastic coffee filter at Walmart will fit this machine and then you can use the coffee and grind of your choice to brew with this machine.

Breakdown:

Good mother’s day present.

When it comes to coffee makers, I guess this one is pretty much like all the rest, it makes whatever you want it to make. I really don’t know that much about coffee pots, and it doesn’t matter because they don’t give that many details. It includes a milk frother (yay?). Is frother a word?

The coffee maker itself isn’t where the great deal is (Froogle comes up with them at less than $16). The great deal lies in the coffee itself. I froogled coffee pods, and they go for about $5 for 14 pods. Since this comes with 72 pods, that calculates to about $26 worth of coffee. Not bad, not bad.

Then again, once you run out of those pods, you have to go buy more**, and the pods costs significantly more than coffee grounds/beans do.

**timmyvee brings to my attention that there is a filter you can buy to brew coffee with normal grounds. This would save you plenty of money in the end, although since the water tank only holds 2 cups worth, you won’t get very much coffee each time you brew, unless you refill it multiple times (normal coffee pots hold upwards of 5, mine at home holds 10). Note that cups means US cups, and not actual mugs of coffee, unless your mug holds only one cup.

8.5 out of 10

Read italiancousin’s detailed review here for a good second opinion.

Yeah, it would have grate on my mother when she ran out of the 72 pods!

Wondering if this stuff is Kosher…

I emailed them and I am awaiting a response…

Oy, What a great gift!

I use a French press and I have to buy nothing but coffee.

This Woot = Meh. Next!

Once again, buy the refillable coffee filter at Walmart for about 10 bucks and you will never run out of coffee of your choice.

Apparently the coffee machine is (was?) distributed by a multilevel marketing company (think Amway, Herbalife, etc.). That probably means that the replacement pods, unless you can make your own substitutes, will only be available from a distributor.

This link mentions the MLM connection: singleservecoffee.com - singleservecoffee Resources and Information.

Going to the kitchen and I’m,
going to make coffee and I’m,
going to the breadbox and I’m,
going to make a philly and I’m…
Ahhh, bought one for my wife cause I love her so much.
