When a laptop is refurnished, does it use the original battery or has the battery been replaced?

It should come with a “functional” battery, which is most likely the original. Only if whatever battery that came with it to the refurbisher didn’t work would they replace it with a new pack. Don’t be surprised if it comes with the original battery, however since this is a >3 year old laptop, there’s a possibility that someone could’ve replaced the battery in that time before getting rid of it (these are business-class laptops that are probably off-lease.)

I’m not sure about the battery, but it should have a new couch and coffee table.

Once again, Webcam shown, webcam listed as not included. Geesh this is getting exhausting. Anybody know if it has one or not?

The 240Gb version I purchased a few months back did indeed have a webcam. I’ve been quite happy with it.

I used these laptops at the corporation I work for. Very capable machine, if a bit on the heavy side. These ran relatively problem free for the 3 year cycle I had them in service. They do have a webcam, or at least all of the ones I had in service did. The only negative thing I will say about them is the metal case is very prone to damage as the metal is quite thin and bends easily.

These are nice laptops for everyday computing but this isn’t really a great deal. They can be found easily for about the same price any day of the week. I actually bought this one about a month ago from walmart. com

The processor in the woot one is slightly better but comparable. Not saying this isnt a good purchase just saying if your on the fence these will still be available tomorrow everywhere else for the same price.

As explained previously, we are using vendor photos. We do not get samples to shoot. Pls go by the specs. All computers will be brought to the specs at a minimum.

I use an 8460P at work and like it. Mine has bluetooth and an HDMI port.

I did not see bluetooth or HDMI listed in the specs for this unit being offered on Woot. Does anyone have information confirming the existence of these one way or the other?

Thanks!

If it’s not listed, it’s not there.

The 8460p was released in 2011 and has a Sandy Bridge Processor, the 8470p was released in 2012 and has an Ivy Bridge Processor. The components being 1 year newer is probably worth the extra $20.

this is also the corporate laptop at my work. I’m 3 years in and it flies like new. Given some of the newer people have newer laptops that apparently have issues, i’m quite content holding off on my company upgrade to keep this longer

My 8470p has Bluetooth and a DisplayPort connection. You can buy a cheap DisplayPort to HDMI cable or adapter if HDMI is a requirement for you.

Ivy bridge + ssd makes this laptop not completely underwhelming but I have no idea how people can buy laptops with 1366x768 screens.

I bought a few refurbished sandy/ivy laptops over recent years, but they always have at least 1600x900 resolution screens, which is still low in today’s standards.

is this a good size to use on airplane tray …ie will it FIT on tray?
