Looks like a good home (non-gaming) laptop. Decent specs, good mem/HD, screen flips for tablet use.

Too bad it doesn’t include pen that’s stored in the frame so you don’t lose it (like Yogas).

Not a good laptop at not a good price. If you must buy an HP - and be warned that their QC is worse than it ever was and it was never very good - you can find this model new for about $100 more if you use your google-fu. I guess new vs. refurb isn’t that big of a deal since reports are that so many Envy laptops go back that they are short on replacement parts. So maybe call this pre-refurb?

I bought one on this site last year, and I really don’t recommend it. It has a problem with the mouse driver and when you are using office applications and it jumps constantly, it is difficult to control. I have taken it several times to review and HP support and it has not been possible to fix it.

I got an HP Envy 17 inch, with touchscreen and 8 gb, with an I7 processor, and it has been rock solid. My only complaint was the 1 tb drive was a 5400 rpm, so boot up and access times were slow (and annoying since I also have a MacBook Pro that would boot up and be ready to use in about 10 seconds, from a power off mode). So this last year I maxed out the memory on the HP envy, and replaced the HD with a 2 tb SSD, and now it’s faster than my MacBook Pro. Also, it will read and recognize thumb drives and SD cards that my MacBook stopped recognizing.
