How does Kindle work with the Cellular LTE connection? I thought I read that it was somewhat discounted due to the publishers picking up the tab.
Curious as to what is needed say on Verizon network etc

Does the kindle hook up to the internet and e-mails to receive them
Yes, this kindle can access the internet with Wifi and 4G LTE connectivity.
Would this be better than my Woot Samsung Galaxy tab 3?
I use it as a internet tablet only.
From the specs page:
4G Connectivity: 4G LTE wireless with HSPA+, HSDPA, and EDGE/GPRS fallback (Note: Cellular service is not included. Service by AT&T)
I would bet NO. I’ve been on board for Kindle Fire stuff since the first one. I have maybe five now. By the time they came up with the HDX, I felt a bit burned. Now that I’ve had more experience, I’d say NONE of the older Fires came with enough memory.
Lately, I’ve been buying Chromebooks and Asus tablets instead.
I honestly have felt confined with Kindles/Fires. I’m much happier with a beat up Asus tablet.
I have a love-hate thing with Kindle Fires. Even the HD models are fine to watch a movie on, the hardware is okay. But Amazon wants to do what all these big companies want to do: lock you in so they can sell you more more more. It’s neverending and changes are not guaranteed to be for the better. I’ve seen the HDX units in Woot several times. I still have not purchased. Each one offered has less memory than my experience tells me I will want.
i called amazon tech support. it is an old device. it only works for att & verizon w/ limited sim card types, 4g-16gb, 4g-32gb, 4g-64gb.
