I’ve never seen these before.
Any good for someone with arthritis? Some days it’s really tough to grip and exert pressure at the same time.
Since I already have free shipping I guess I’ll go ahead and get these this time around. Hopefully this will allow my wife to open her own jars.
Or…give her something extra to throw at her husband…
I saw another wooter say they use the jar opener for just that reason…
She would probably prefer something with a lil more bulk than these!
Thanks so much…in for a set!
But I REALLY wanted Woot! Soup…
I bought this set for the jar opener and it has changed my life! No more placing the jar under hot running water or tapping it on the side of the counter. Put on the jar opener, adjust to fit, twist and voila! Open jar! Yay! The can opener is cool, too. No sharp edges on the top once removed. I can’t quite figure out how it works. Must be magic.
You can use this to open a Bottle of Catsup!
I paid $5 more for these back in April. I got them because of arthritis in my hands. They really do make it easy to open things. I would recommend them for all of the grandmas out there.

I have arthritis and also a demyelenating neurological disorder that causes pain and weakness in hands. I have had trouble for years opening jars and bottles. My husband (love him dearly) bought this for me and it has been a lifesaver. I have used this to open pickle jars, jam, soda bottles and even my water bottles. It’s adjustable and uses little metal teeth (which I was opposed to previously) but if you secure it nicely on the lid it works spectacularly! No more frustrating nights home alone not being able to open things…this device has been great for me and I recommend it! Keep in mind, there is a crank handle to turn on the top of it to adjust the teeth to meet the diameter of the lid, so if your pain is too bad or you have loss of dexterity in your hands this may not work for you…but it’s worth a try. I was a little scared of the twist knob on the top, but have not had any trouble with it.
I just got these from last time they were offered. I haven’t had a chance to use them yet, but I was surprised at how thick and well made they were. Not the cheap dollar store kind that you use once and need to replace.
I bought these when they were up the other day. They’re pretty nice, and a good (read: easy to turn) can opener will run you $15, anyway. We’ve used the can opener a good bit since we got it, and it has worked as advertised every time.
I do wish I had waited, though. I got a good deal with 3 sets (gifts), but I had to give in on the Hello Kitty BabyLegs earlier. And I’m cheap.
I Bought One,
Note: This Product Does Work (Despite Many Claims that It does Not).
Please Read the Instructions Carefully. It works Slight Different From other Can Openers.
This cuts the middle of the lid roll and leaves no sharp edges to cut plastic trash bags or hands or tongues if you like to lick the can lids.
I choose this manual can opener over an automatic one.
This device doesn’t require a person to have super human strength to use or a 10 page manual to Understand. My 85 year Old Mom Uses it without any problem and She has Arthritis.
All I can say is its take a few minutes to understand how it works.
Easy and fun to use. Even A Caveman Could Use It
In for three! One for me two for xmas gifts… or maybe three for me… they ARE different colors afterall
The jar opener and the can opener are awesome - if you have arthritis, the jar opener works very well!
I do not have arthritis, but while I love the can opener, it does require a little oomph to operate - I would think that would make it more difficult for weak hands. Still, I like the way you can re-lid the cans.
Arthritis endorsement here! The jar opener has changed my life, and I’m not exaggerating. In fact, just today I used it to open a jar of peanut butter that was sealed to be person-proof, as far as I could tell.
Seriously, if you have arthritis (and I do), you want these.
Did my part and wooted for three. Now, I won’t be in a pickle trying to figure out Christmas gifts.
