Lenovo Tab M8 8" HD Android Tablet

Lenovo Tab M8 8" HD Android Tablet

I have this. We still use it just fine as a media tablet for the kids. Faster than a Fire.

As far as I can tell the chargijg port on this version of the M8 is micro USB. If it’s anything like the lenovo tab 4 8" tablet I had in 2018, the port will break if you look at it funny (the tab on the inside that has the metal connection points on it). The port was also soldered onto the mainboard and had a weird design that I couldn’t find anywhere to order. It would surprise me if they made it more repairable since this M8 tablet was $100 MSRP, the same price as my Tab 4.

There is a version that has usb-C, but it doesn’t match the specs listed, and the version of the M8 I found online that matches the specs has a usb micro port.

In my opinion, save your $50 because it will probably break before you get your monwy’s worth.

Le novo… It must be slang for le nouveau. SMH Kids these days.

Yeah, you could probably get the Lenovo duet Chromebook for like 75 to 100 bucks. A fire tablet with USB-C has been on sale here for like 70 bucks.

If you can stretch your budget a bit, call my 16 gigabytes Android 9 and Micro USB is pretty rough.

I mean, obviously, this is the kind of thing you probably buy for a kid or something, or a single-use thing, like a large remote control.

With Android 15 coming out in a couple of months and 8 the oldest version to be fully supported in the play store, I imagine you’re only going to get a year or 2 before your going to be unable to use the tablet in a non “hackied” way. Not that you’re going to be able to load much anyway with 16 GB of space. Outside of a potential media consumption device, not sure what other use case there is for a 6 to 7 year old tablet that was lower end when it was released.

Selling a device running Android 9 at this point in time is borderline unethical. Don’t get it for kids- this won’t support the stuff they want to do.

Unless you have a very specific use case that you know this would satisfy, best to look for a different budget tablet.
