I made my first Woot purchase back in February for my kids for Easter. It was an Echo Glow. I tried setting it up but kept running into issues so I talked to Amazon who told me the device was marked as “Lost or Stolen” by the original purchaser and so they deactivated the device.
Is this normal for Woot merchandise? I’m extremely disappointed.
Yes, but as it is well outside of the 30 day return policy, they aren’t required to do anything. I just had no idea that they’d be selling deactivated devices. Very poor first experience.
It does say 90 day limited warranty, which I do fall in. So I’m really hopeful that they’ll help. When I submitted the claim that it was defective, the woot monkey mentioned a 30 day window several times. That makes me nervous.
Hi there. Sorry about that. We get Amazon devices from Amazon so someone on their end didn’t do a proper reset or some other magical process they needed to do.
Woot customer service will be happy to help.
To speed things up, let them know if you prefer a return/refund or a replacement (if possible).
Woot! App: Choose Account from the bottom navigation and then Support.
Self-Return: Items without Li-Ion batteries can be self-returned within 30 days. Go to your Order Details to get started. The return label will be emailed from UPS.
Note: Woot! Customer Service replies go to the email address on your Woot! account, not your Amazon login email if used/different.
I’d like a replacement if possible. If not, a refund is fine. I already filled out the customer service form, so I’m happy to wait the 24-48h window to get a response.
