Does anyone know if this will work on gate openers? Specifically a might mule gate opener?
Thanks in advance.
I bought one a little while back from Amazon. Not the greatest app, but it serves the purpose. The setup want difficult, took about an hour to just hook up and get the sensor in place, most of that was figuring out what I did wrong(crossed wires).
Ultimately, if you are looking for a way to open your garage door from your phone, this is an acceptable, cheap option. If you are looking for fancy "smart home"features, integration with other systems, etc, you might want to keep looking. This serves my immediate need, and allows me the option to upgrade later without feeling like I completely wasted the initial investment.
ETA: They apparently specify integration with Home/Alexa/IFTTT. I tried back then to integrate with Home and IFTTT, but neither really found the device or had services available. I don’t see either still when looking now, but it’s possible I have a slightly older version from this exact one.
Seems their site is very thorough on compatibility. I’ll need to test my garage and hopefully it doesn’t sell out in that time.
It says Google Home, Amazon Alexa, and IFTTT support. I would assume IFTTT would cover everything the others didn’t in terms of smart automation?
No Amazon Home Smart Key if that is important to you. I found that while my brand opener has the same thing it also adds Amazon Home Key so Amazon can leave packages in your garage if you so desire. This system does not seem to offer that but is half the price of my garage door makers hardware so that may be something you are willing to give up if it is not important to you.
No Homekit compatibility, no sale.
I’m disappointed on Amazon with fake reviews on smart products, but moreso on Woot for not double checking.
This company showed up overnight on Amazon:
Alternative posting just as bad:
Fakespot isn’t that reliable. Best thing is to sort reviews by verified purchasers.
And this product has been on Amazon for 8 months so not exactly overnight.
Meross has a lot of different products and has been around for quite a while.
It’s $1 cheaper at Amazon if you apply the $10 coupon, plus you’ll get it faster.

[MOD: different brand]
Hmm I guess I’ll bite.
I was basing on them dumping a lot of products right on time for Prime Day.
2016 isn’t that long. I guess I’ll give them a shot as US offerings aren’t great for the same features.
Is there an account or a subscription fee required to use this?
Nope
different seller and different brand. meross vs. Refoss. LOL
Oh funny, it looks exactly the same just a name change.
Yeah, they have basic integration(I should probably update to state that). No z-wave support, which is what I was hoping for. I was hoping for some other home automation support myself as a secondary to z-wave, but again, not there.
I haven’t really tested the Alexa, and IFTTT doesn’t seem to actually have them as a service. I couldn’t get it added to my Home as it never found the device either.
I setup to get notifications from the app every time the door opens/closes/stays open for more than 15 minutes. It’s annoying sometimes, but worth the notifications. You could drive other services from those notifications I guess, but not really integration.
The Refoss uses an external 5V USB power supply. The Meross can plug straight into a 120V or 240V (Europe) AC mains. Might not that important but worth mentioning.
okay cool
