When I purchased this product last time it was offered here, I followed the instructions provided and, while it did install and activate on my laptop PC, it does not show up under Services & Subscriptions under my Microsoft account along side my desktop’s Office 2016. I also purchased MS Office Home & Business 2019 for Mac (for a MacBook) about the same time as the Office Pro 2021 and, interestingly, that product DOES show under my Microsoft account. I’m guessing that I will not be able to transfer Office 2021 to a newer PC when the laptop is ready to be upgraded. Anyone else with a similar experience?
If I buy this, will I still have to pay a yearly subscription fee?
This is lifetime, you don’t need to pay subscription
I am very happy to report I bought this, just got the product key and installed it following the instruction provided with no problem whatsoever.
This is not office 365. It’s Microsoft Office 2021 licensed for the lifetime of the one computer it’s installed on. It’s perfect for the mystery laptop machine I bought from here with better than minimum specs that can run Windows for the next 5-7 years or so. I’d consider this whole thing a bargain even still.
Unfortunately, I purchased the validation key in August, but did not get my new PC until this past month. The process to load Office described by Woot was followed and the key went in fine… until Microsoft came back and said they would not authorize the software because the key was invalid. I have tried a number of times to delete and reload Office and enter the key with no success both by internet and telephone. Woot says that I’m past the 90-day return/refund period and they will not send me a valid key. I only want a key that works… I’m not asking for a refund, only what I paid for back in August.
I just installed and validated this on my husband’s new PC. The reports of problems had me hold off on getting a copy for my PC until I was sure his worked. It wasn’t trouble-free but it was fine in the end.
I didn’t want to just activate the copy of Office 365 that came pre-installed, so I tried to set it up using the link for downloading Office. It would not redeem my code, said it was invalid. I tried again by downloading the disc image file and that went just fine. The key will activate Office Pro Plus, too.
Update on MS Office 2021 purchase… after I posted about the product key coming back as invalid, Woot did send me an alternate key… however, this key generated a message that it couldn’t be recognized… didn’t toss me out as the last one did, just stopped there and wouldn’t go any further… don’t know if this is another way of saying it’s invalid or if the key was not a Microsoft key… told customer service and awaiting next steps
I got my second key today and it worked fine, too. This time I did just use it to activate the pre-installed Office 365 and it recognized that it was for Office Pro Plus and downloaded the necessary files.
No luck activating as it says, “…cannot be activated because the specified Product Key has already been used the maximum number of times…” What does that even mean? If Woot is selling a group license, they should say so, and it should not be oversold.
Woot responded the first time I requested help with this problem, asking for an image of the actual Microsoft message, which I sent in a reply, but they have not responded since. Very frustrating.
Hi there. I don’t see a purchase for this item on the account you’re posting from. When responding to CS, make sure you’re doing so from the mail address on your Woot account. For security reasons, they won’t respond to another email address.
When I try using the VALIDATION KEY provided on microsoft website I get the error:
"Sorry, we don’t recognize the product key you entered. Please check that you typed it correctly.
If the product key you entered is correct, you may need to enter it on a different site. "
Product key didn’t work
Try typing it in if you were using copy/paste. If still no luck, reach out to Woot! Customer Service. To speed things up, let them know if you prefer a return/refund or a replacement (if possible).
Please allow 24-48h for them to respond.
Browser: Use the Woot! Customer Service form.
Woot! App: Choose Account from the bottom navigation and then Support.
Self-Return: Items without Li-Ion batteries can be self-returned within 30 days. Go to your Order Details to get started. The return label will be emailed from UPS.
Note: Woot! Customer Service replies go to the email address on your Woot! account, not your Amazon login email if used/different.
That’s what I got the first time, too. I got around it by downloading a full image of Office and was able to activate that just fine.
On another PC, I just used the code to activate the already-installed Office 365 and it downloaded the necessary files to have Office Pro Plus rather than 365.
HTH
This is (sort of) cheating, that many of the users won’t care; but if do attend to details, consider this listing untruthful. They are selling volume licensed Professional Plus keys, NOT the individual Office Professional. I found it within few hours of purchase and the customer support refunded me promptly. I never completely activated the key, raised a request, and got refunded. Volume licenses are available on the web for $10-$20 with questionable sources, this could easily be one of those hiding behind Woot but charging more $.
How did you determine yours is a volume license? I bought one last year that gave no indication it was a volume license. It’s just a license that activated Office Pro 2021 and I haven’t had any trouble with it.
(Please note: I don’t work for Woot, I just volunteer to help out here on the forums.)
I wonder if by chance the license key would work for MS Office Pro 2021 for MAC? I get the feeling it won’t, but some of the previous discussion seems to indicate it might be a possibility. Thoughts?
I bought this and encountered similar issues as it seems so many have. I followed all of the instructions and when it came time to put the key in the ignition, the car would not start. I now have a copy of MOP 2021 that says i need to put in a valid key within a month or it will shut down and be considered “unlicensed,” which i am assuming means i have a no-good shell of a program taking up space, which i guess i can delete (no instructions for how to safely remove what did install). SO, Woot did refund me stating there was not a replacement key, yet… here I am, staring at the same listing. Why is it still being sold if its Bootyfriedaliscious with non-working codes? Or, is this a different batch or something? Should i re-purchase and see if it will work this time or would that be a classic case of WootInsanity with me doing the same thing expecting different results? Y’all makin’ me feel crazier than i already was… am… is. To reWoot or not to reWoot, that is the woot?
They provided the license for Professional Plus, which is used for volume licensing.
Office Professional is for individuals or small businesses.
After 3 requests for help, a refund is on the way. If you’re having trouble registering this product, keep asking for help. They may eventually get the message!
