What happened last time? I ask as a potential customer
I wanna know too? Anyone bought this last time around? Is it legit?
I just searched the forums and read a thread from July. It appears that many people had issues downloading, installing, and redeeming the key. But, it looks like most people eventually did get it working. I might pick one up for my wife…
I didn’t know that this was even available anymore. Why was I convinced that the only way to get office was to pay an annual subscription for office 365?
Go to gamers outlet and you can get this same exact working software for less than $10
For those questioning, yes it is legit. I bought on 8/7/23 for $49.99 so this is an even better price at $39.99.
Downloading was a little odd and I found the steps on a Woot comment somewhere- unfortunately I don’t remember where that was. Either way, if you can find those steps it’s relatively straight forward and not too much trouble.
For those who purchased previously, is this something like where you get a key code, go to the Microsoft Store, enter code and download it?
Or is there some other shady process to get a one time download from some shady download site?
Just saw the download instructions on the product page.
You download the giant Disk Image, mount it and then install it from the mounted disk image. After installation, you open up Word and enter the mystery code.
Not sure what happens if you need to reinstall it at a later time. Will the code still work on the same machine?
Anyone know if these licenses are valid for multiple users on the same machine? Like if my kids logging into their own account on the same PC will have access to the whole Office Suite for their school work?
The code I received was an additional user license licensed to a corporation and became deactivated after a week. It would no longer validate. Luckily the woot team did make me whole again and didn’t just brush me off referring me to wootzilla.
I’m going to order one, It better not come with an annual fee or I’ll feel deceived. Didn’t know you could still buy stand alone office program.
This is the thread from July for this same product… in case it helps anyone.
That’s what they want you to do because they want you to pay for a subscription until the end of time. With this you can still access the Office programs from anywhere if you got into your Microsoft account.
Thanks for posting, I always wonder about the legitimacy of those website. I will have to try it out.
I ordered Office Pro Plus 2021 from Groupon a few days ago. Haven’t installed it yet, but the key was valid to download from MS. The keys are real, but not from legitimate sales channels. MS could deactivate it at anytime. I rolled the dice and took a chance to update my Office Pro 2007, which works perfectly fine still. I am surprised that Woot/Amazon is selling these.
This isn’t Office 365. This is a “different” product. Technically they are different.
Hey y’all paying for this. I use LibreOffice and it’s free (although I chose to donate)
I have never encountered a compatibility issue with it.
I’m not sure if I can post links for other deals so I’ll just explain this and if you’re interested a quick search will probably find you the deal.
Just last week there was a link on Apple News for a Mashable article that had lifetime license for MS Office Professional 2021 (2-Pack) for $80 ($79.99)
They also offer MS Office Home & Business for Mac 2021
I have Word 2007. I started using LibreOffice but am thinking about getting the 2-Pack deal mostly for Word update & Publisher & also for 2 machines. I was wondering why such the great deal? It’s normally $440 Thinking maybe it’s being phased out for Office 2024 ect. So I did a quick search… I also found the exact same deal on LifeHacker. Each one takes you to their Shop… shop.mashable & shop.lifehacker They look identical w/ the same reviews.
A few reviews say they had a little trouble w/ the product code but they got it worked out.
I just checked and the link is still working. Kinda looks like this is an on going deal. There’s quite a few reviews from February and go back to Nov. 22
Maybe this will help someone…?
You can post links, provided they’re legit and not to a hacker place.
What about this one?? https://ikeahackers.net/
