What a joke, truffle peelings. First, we know that truffles have a very short life and are put on at the table because of that and showing off. Truffles have less than an hour usage time before it starts to degrade and the flavor wane. I hope people saw this, “After opening, keep refrigerated and use within 5 days.” Next, have you ever taken a mushroom, cut it up, and left it for a while? Did you ever get ANY Liquid? Did you see this, “are packed in their juice to preserve flavor and freshness?” There is NO mushroom juice. Now, do you know about truffle oil? There are NO TRUFFLES in truffle oil at all. It is a chemical mixture in a non-reactive (No smell or taste) oil, perfected by a perfume company. Look this shit up. Personally, I really want to meet the, " * TRUSTED BY THE WORLD’S TOP CHEFS" who use this and stay away from their restaurants. I’ll pass and get mine from Whole Foods, as fresh as I can get without a pig, tree, and dirt.
Not defending the product, but truffle juice is a byproduct of the preservation process.
It doesn’t take a great deal of time to research both truffle peelings, an apparently common item for those who know it exists, and truffle “juice”. Unlike orange “juice”, one does not squeeze juice from a truffle but rather collects the cooking or steaming liquid from the canning process and uses it to impart subtle truffle flavor. I can’t speak to these truffle peelings but I do know to double check angry irrational looking diatribes.
