Agreed - 'did not mean to imply it was ever worth $499 - only that it is in that ‘class’ of tabs. (Will edit my post)

Sorry if that sounded like it was directed at you, it wasn’t–just a general comment. I think the whole concept of “% off retail!” is silly when the retail price is something no one pays.
The Nexus 7 is a much better tablet in my opinion. It isn’t perfect, but it is very well built, the screen is very nice, and it because of the 7" screen, apps that aren’t tablet optimized don’t look as bad as they do on larger tablets.

Why is it that all the more expensive tablets can’t put in an SD card. Seriously, I liked being able to take photos on my digital camera and upload them with ease. I wish I never dropped my poor Polaroid PMID701C. That little 50 dollar tablet could do so much…

Then look for a Toshiba Excite 10, they have a SD slot and can be found around the same price point.
A couple of months ago a friend asked for advice on tablets. I had just gotten an iPad Mini which I was very pleased with, but she wanted to keep it closer to $200.
After some research, my recommendations were the Google Nexus 7, Kindle Fire HD (7"), and this XYBoard. This deal, with the accessories, would have pushed her over the edge for this one. (Instead she chose a 10" lesser model - she just wanted that big ten-incher, I suppose) :-/
“is this worth it, or would something like the galaxy note 2 or nexus 7 be better”
“G. Note 2 is way more expensive if you’re talking the 10” one"
There is no such thing as a Galaxy Note 2 10". There is only the Galaxy Note 10" at this time. The Galaxy Note 2 is a PHONE (or phablet, if you prefer). I have no idea why anyone would compare this to a phone. Apples to Oranges comparison.
Apparently it is a little odd, but not hard at all.
EDIT: Just noticed the Square Trade warranty is listed at $34.99 for three years. When you click the link to buy it, the price goes down to $26.99 for three years. That includes coverage at the full price you are paying for this item. But, since this “item” is not just the tablet, I don’t exactly know how that works.

There is a Galaxy “Tab” 2 10.1". Which I bought refurb last week for just about the same price as this deal. I love it so far. Not really sure what the difference is between a “note” and a “tab” in Samsung-land, however…
EDIT: OK, I guess the phone capability is the only difference? Or are there other things??

The Note 10.1 is the tablet with the stylus and input designed around it. (no phone capabilities, that is the Note 2 which is not a tablet at all).
The Galaxy Tab 2, which you purchased, is a much better comparison. In my opinion it is the better tablet at a comparable price. It is larger and has expandable memory as a starting point.
I wouldnt trust that site at all. The “grefu m97” tablet first product image is that of an iPad. it even says ipad in the top left corner on the device
Well, the Nexus has no SD storage either. You can use Google’s cloud services (and Amazon’s BTW) to store your media. I have all of my music on Google and Amazon Music, books on Kindle, docs on Drive, etc. All work just fine.
