I bought one of these last time (for less?) it was a pretty easy install and works great. It took a little while to sync with my wi-fi but the signal isnât the best in the garage. We had a couple of power outages and the system didnât automatically re-sync with my wi-fi network. A few more times it disconnected, but something seems to have changed (maybe a firmware update if they do those?) and itâs been rock solid through power outages and everything else. We like ti very much, itâs awesome to be heading home and say âHey Google, open the garageâ and vice versus, plus the confirmation notification that the garage is then open (or closed) and the ability to check the status in the app as well. RECOMMENDED BUY
Iâve had similar issues with power outages and wifi connections afterward. I have an access point in the garage, so signal strength isnât the problem. The only way I can recover is to completely uninstall the app on my phone and go through the entire setup process after every power outage. As long as the power remains on, this thing works as advertised.
Are there any on-going fees to use the app? I have seen that with some other garage door controllers.
Nope. No fees.
Like the other commenters, I have one and itâs totally legit. Not âperfectâ, but some of it is a function of things out of the productâs control (e.g. wifi signal, GPS accuracy for the auto-open, etc.)
I love mine.
Does this work with (work well with) Samsung Smartthings?
Yep. I do this. And Siri. (and I think the poster above mentions using Google.)
Worth every penny. My garage system only supports 3 âremotesâ.
With this installed I have 6 people with the app able to control the garage with their phone.
You can control the garage/check itâs status where ever you are.
You can test if your opener is compatible before buying very easily, check video #1.
