Ninja FG551 Foodi XL 6-in-1 Indoor Grill

Ninja FG551 Foodi XL 6-in-1 Indoor Grill

Bought one the last time they were on Woot - love it! I have used it to make brats a few times. Set the internal temp, thermometer in meat and it is basically a set it and “forget it”

Easily fits 6 brats

Do you mean brats as in bratwurst sausages, not spoiled children?

Spoiled children won’t fit.

The cheapest I see it is 170, and that’s for “renewed” from marketplace sellers. The mothership is 255 for new.

Is taking the 5th an option?

I just bought one of these four days ago locally when I saw the price dropped to 199 or I would jump on this. Nice little appliance.

Haven’t tried any bad kids yet, but burgers and pizza rolls came out nicely in the event you need to bait some. Would have been difficult to fit more than four1/3 pound hamburger patties on the grill though so I’m not sure about that six steak claim unless they’re about the size of premade breakfast sausage patties.

Still happy with it though. Would have jumped at half what I paid, but timing and patience and I don’t seem to get along very often.

To me when I was kid, a brat was either what my sisters called me (they weren’t wrong) or a piece of buttered bread with a hole cut in the center, an egg with the yolk centered in the hole, and cooked to perfection in the skillet.

There’s the Ninja Foodi Grill (which is advertised to fit four hamburger Patties) and the Ninja Foodi Grill XL, which has a more rectangular cooking area and advertises to grill 6 hamburger Patties. Is yours more square-shaped?

If anyone can help… I just bought a “like new” Ninja Toaster Oven Air XL Pro from Amazon, but I was dissatisfied and returned it. I need to know if this grill can do a few things better than the oven, and some things good enough.

The Oven was good for toast and baking, but when trying to air fry, roast, or broil, the performance was way below my normal gas oven, taking twice as long to cook chicken through and unable to crisp veggies or wings. I suspect mine may have been defective, unable to reach the 450°F temp when I set it for that (I “air fried” 3 lbs of wings as recommended by an air-fry recipe, but at the end of the maximum recommended time the skin on the wings was still pale and rubber, and the center of the chicken was still almost raw and I didn’t feel safe… after doubling the cook time, the center tasted “done,” but the skin was still pale and yuck with no browning). Ultimately, I felt like I just had a very large toaster, which couldn’t even create an environment as hot as my non-convection oven when set to 375°F. So, I returned it to Amazon as defective.

So, does Woot accept returns on refurbished items if they don’t work to satisfaction? I see they only have a 90-day warranty.

Second, a question for any owners of the Grill XL: it should be good at air frying and grilling, but is the unit sold here able to bake a pizza?

Hi there, the below is Woot’s return policy.

(Please Note: I’m not employed by Woot, but I volunteer to help in the forums.)

Thanks; I saw Woot’s general policy, but it said that returns may vary by item (and the app doesn’t show what the return policy is on these refurb items). Through the link you sent, it said there were returns (but customers pay return shipping). I don’t know if the grill classifies as a “heavy” item, but that could be a $50 flat fee.

Even if you are a volunteer, I appreciate that you replied to me. It helped :grinning:

Hi there. We usually offer a pre-paid return label unless you’re abusing our kindness.
