Olevia 65” 1080p LCD HDTV

Anyone know what the two black edge pieces are for? They came in the box with the TV.

I was wondering that myself… can anyone get a definitive answer on this?

They are covers used if you wall mount it. They don’t seem to work great. Its just on the back of the TV so its not too bad.

Waltz,
Thanks so much for sharing this info!
I have the T11 also and was wondering about the wt w/o stand.
I haven’t unpacked it yet, but in the process.
I bought the Level tilt mount from Sam’s club for $100.
It has a max wt of 200 Lbs, so I guess I’m close to that, but under.
I just hope the studs in the wall hold!
Good luck to all and thanks for all the input to help fellow wooters along!!!

No, unfortunately, this is the only remote that I use. It still hasn’t gone off by itself today, so maybe it was just a one-time thing. I hope so, but I am still uneasy about it.

You are awesome. I played with those inputs and the the record and stop buttons are…drumroll…HDMI 1 and HDMI 2 !!

Ok help me out here. How’d you get it to work. Maybe a T12 function? I have a T11 and those buttons don’t seem to do anything.

I have the brushed aluminum bezel which I believe is the T11, it came with paper manual and the learning remote. I have my cable set up on the TV remote but Idoubt that would have any effect on that function.

Do you have your remote set on TV when you try?

did you notice that inside these edge pieces it’s marked Samsung!

I wonder how much, if any of the TV is made by Samsung. When looking at all the TVs side by side at the stores I always thought the samsung TVs look better than any other brand. In my opinion, samsung knows what they are doing and I hope they had a hand in making this TV.

I’ve been bait and switched from adorama before on a camera lens.

Yep. TV mode. I have the T11 but with the cd manual. Strange… I’ll try again though.

Olevia explains this in Paragraph 8 of is the 1 foldable big page of separate instructions for the RC-LRN remote. I also noticed it had discrete buttons yesterday instead of using the wheel menu or cycling via remote.
Rewind - Composite 1
Skip Back - Composite 2
Play - svideo 1
Pause svdeo 2
ffwd= component 1
skip fwd - component 2
record - hdmi 1
stop - hdmi 2

the remote also has macros can be mode and mode-independent for up to 32 button push commands per macro.

i think the rc-lrn remote is made by Universal and called the Taurus RC-LRN. however it isn’t anywhere on http://www.universalremote.com/

Got some help Saturday and set up the beast. Watched about 12 hours of football until my neck got tired from moving it right to left watching the action. Haven’t got my HD box from the cable company yet, but still a great picture. So far, so good! ROLL TIDE!!

On section 8 of my “Quick Start Guide”, only the Source and Channel buttons are mentioned. This seems consistent with observed functionality because the video transport buttons don’t seem to have any effect on changing sources.

Can you tell me exactly what the button sequence is for you on this? For example, do you press Source first then a transport (Play, Stop, etc) button? Or can you press a transport button first/only for it to change source?

That reminds me of another difference between mine and others on this forum. I have a T-11 with aluminum trim, but my manual came on CD - not paper. Others with T-11 seem to have gotten paper manuals. I did get the folded “Quick Start” and the usual warranty cards.

Finally, I’m happy to report that I haven’t found any dead or bright colored pixels.

Gloria,

The Sleep button activates a delayed power down function. Someone could have pressed it 30 minutes or more before the TV actually turned off. This happened to us several times on another TV before we finally figured out what was happening. The sleep button is near the edge of the remote making it easy to accidentally press it.

The best buy in-store label has the TV weight limit incorrectly marked at 100lbs. The transparent label on the stand shelves (if BB didn’t remove it) specifically states that the top shelf can hold 300 lbs, and the other two shelves can hold 100 lbs. Note that BB has the TV weight limit correctly specified on their website.

Here is my T11 with this stand. I placed my laptop with a 17 inch screen for size comparison. I don’t notice any sagging visually, but I didn’t actually measure to know for sure if it is sagging or not. Also be aware this stand is a dust and fingerprint magnet. Keep it clean and it looks sharp!

The inputs work as source selectors as long as the remote is on TV. No additional input required. Do you have the learning remote? Maybe that’s the difference.

I’m not sure what you mean by “the inputs”. It doesn’t say that anywhere on my remote. I have the RC-LTU. It may not be the learning type and that might be the difference.

Inputs=buttons. My remote is marked RC LRN so I guess that is it.
