Philips 32” 720p LCD HDTV

Great deal. At least 100.00 less than anywhere else. Seems like a perfect office or guest bedroom/work out room tv. I think I’ll pull the trigger on it even though what I really want is a 42". Good going woot.

I bought this same model at Sam’s Club a while back. The best part of this TV compared with other models in the same price range is the sound quality. The sound from the internal speakers is clear and can go quite loud. Some of the other ones I look at could barely be heard in the store at full volume.

I bought this on Sellout.Woot last month. It arrived DOA, but Philips is replacing it. New one should be here soon.

Woot mocks me again.

I just bought a cheap (Olevia/Emerson) 32" HDTV yesterday:

$5 more than todays Woot, but it’s new.

FYI - received a 32 rating out of a 100 by consumer reports.

I have purchased this TV from here a couple of weeks ago; It’s been a great tv so far. My only issue with it is the lack of extra ports - only 1 A/V setup, and no VGA port; I’m not yet in to using HDMI cables and S-video, so I’ve no way to hook my laptop up. Otherwise, great buy!

Bought one from sellout a few weeks ago. Working great in the bedroom with a Directv DVR, Sony Blu-Ray and Roku player hooked up. Good brightness and dark blacks.

Can you buy better 32 inch TVs? Yes. Can you buy one for $245 shipped? Doubtful. Is it razor thin? No. Is it edgeless? No. Will your bank account be drained after you buy it? no.

This is a great deal on a second tier “bedroom” or “gaming” TV.

I got this for my kids’ media room last month (off of SelloutWoot). It is a smaller room so the TV is the perfect size and res. for the space. Setup was quick and the kids love it. I looked a good long time and $245 shipped for a 32 inch with a brand I’d actually heard of… for me it was a good deal.

I bought this last time. I have it and a 50" Phillips plasma lined in to my laptop HDMI with a splitter). Works great for internet stuff, pretty decent for design software (Catia V5). Kind of crowds the menus though, really need a 1080p for optimal use with high end graphics programs. But it’s nice to have the notebook up on the little monitor while watching something else on the 50" by switching inputs if I want. I didn’t anticipate this problem though, I had to put a piece of electrical tape over the 32" remote sensor because the remote controlled both TV’s

Refurbished? No thanks. Last refurbished TV I bought here came without the remote and can’t be used for more than 30 minutes without having to pull the power cord from the wall. The picture suddenly gets filled with noise and sometimes the speakers too, piercingly. Each reboot by power cut reduces how long it will operate before it craps out again.

And worst, I didn’t discover this flaw until I tried giving it to my mother for Christmas.

So sorry, but I don’t trust your refurbishers.

If only it were 1080p…I want my 1920x1280 resolution, damn it!

So was it replaced quickly under the warranty? (or did you just keep it with the problems)?

I’m in for one. I’ve been looking for a sub-$300 32" TV for the bedroom for a little while now. 720p will be just fine for that since the TV will be ~12’ away.

EDIT: I also have to speak up for Monoprice. I’ve bought plenty of quality cables from them. I just ordered 2 more HDMI cables and a tilting/swiveling wall bracket for this TV for $35 shipped.

The headline says 720p but the description below mentions 1080i. Searching model 32PFL3505D confirms 720p. 32" doesn’t make much of a TV anymore, but I’m thinking it’d be a great computer monitor on the cheap.

I did a contract job for Philips installing/fixing tvs in a hotel. I will NEVER buy a Philips tv. Horrible company, terrible support. Very bad firmware problems in some of their TVs and unless you work for them, you won’t have access to the latest firmware. Some of the firmware problems/default settings include taking over a minute to start up the TV. Another problem is slow channel changing.

Good idea…

Bought one as a birthday present for my sis!

Who are the mysterious P&F who would provide the warranty for this?

Warranty was 90 days. It ended in July. Christmas gift. Math.

If you’re gonna buy an LCD get a 55-60". There too damn hard to steal. They weigh a ton and it takes two guys to carry them out the door.
