I understand that, but for those who don’t mind plugging up the ears is the best way to get sound isolation and decent bass without big over-the-ear headphones.
I use these daily for my train commute and like them very much – good sound isolation and very low profile. The included ear phlanges (?) make it a particularly good fit for me. I also like that SHE talks. “Headset on.”, and “Battery level… high.” greet me every morning.
Battery life is not an issue for me since I only go about 45 minutes, but 4 hours is about normal for this headset profile.
They do make a battery case that will allow it to charge when not in use, but any powerbank should serve that purpose as well.
Bought these from Woot! a while back. They’re good for taking phone calls or maybe sitting at your desk listening to music or audio book at a low level. I wouldn’t recommend these if you want to take them to the gym to use while working out.
I’ve owned two pairs of these. They are solid Bluetooth ear buds from a solid manufacturer. They aren’t as big as similar BT earbuds. When I had a warranty issue Plantronics replaced them with a new pair no prob. The biggest prob with these is battery life. You get maybe four hour max. So these are not an all day solution. Best uses include commutes and working out. They are also very weather resistant. I’ve been in driving rain for over an hour and had no problems,
I just got a pair of these from amazon. I really like the sound quality and construction. From what I can tell they are a solid pair of headphones. As the above poster said, I would not use them to work out in, but they are small enough for many tasks.
Bought a pair of BackBeats in the summer of 2012 for workout purposes. They don’t fit in my ears as well as the LG Tone Ultra does, but they still get the job done. Still work great as a backup pair of BT headphones. If I hadn’t jumped on the Jaybird deal at Walmart last week, I’d be in for a pair of these.
I’ve been using another brand of BT earbuds for a couple of years. I found that the “stabilizers” and running the cord over the ears, makes them usable for cycling, jogging and other activites.
Note that the woot offering does not come with the extra ear bud sizes, the stabilizers, or the charging case (portable battery). But it does have a battery meter app.
I’ll probably buy a set just for the app, and order the stabilizers from plantronics ($5).
I bought a pair of these last time they were offered on woot. I like them. Decent battery life (2-3 hours). I have used them for short runs, and listening to my iPad late at night. No wires to get tangled. The battery life might put off some, and they sound qualities not the greatest. But if you want longer battery life, you need to go to a larger “around the neck” device (defeating the purpose, in my mind, of the small and very light form factor); better sound quality? Get a pair of wired headphones. You will NEVER get good quality from a Bluetooth headset.
I’d give them 4 out of 5 stars, because they do what they are supposed to do, very well.
I got a pair of these to use while weight lifting since I would get caught up in cords while deadlifting/squatting with wired headphones. One of the little rubber pieces broke off after my second use, but they still stay in my ears no problem. I love them. Great for drowning out the bro music at my gym.
I own one and it sounds really nice. Only thing I don’t like about is that the battery last only about 4hrs. Personally I prefer Mortorola Sol Republic Track air.
