Poulan Pro Chainsaws (Renewed)

Read the reviews. over 1/3rd 1 stars, all about the poor quality of the refurb. Run. Run far away.

I’ve had a couple Poulan Pro pushmowers that have worked great.
The mowers have Briggs ‘n’ Stratton engines, though.

I’ve owned three refurb Poulan Pros–the 18 inch version. I get them off a well-known auction site for about $75 each. They last about five years with moderate use. At that point the carb or fuel system needs repair. Instead of repairing them, I just get another refurb and use the previous ones for spare parts.

From the original post: Renewed products work and look like new. These pre-owned products have been inspected and tested. Box and accessories may be generic.
Off to a bad start on this…just received my saw and was excited to open the box on what my expectation was of a saw that “works and looks like new”. Well, I haven’t fueled and fired it up yet, but if this looks like new, Poulan/Husqvarna would have never sold a second seasons of saws. I would say the bar has about 3-6 hours of use on it. On the surface, that’s fine if this was a “refurbished” saw, I guess; but this was advertised as “renewed”, with the specific comment of it looking like new. There should not be small chunks of metal and labels removed from the bar due to use if this was “renewed”. A bar is easy to replace, guys. The side of the machine has typical wear of a reasonably used machine, sliding around in the back of a truck. It’s not going to impact the functionality (hopefully) of the saw, but to classify this as “renewed” was pretty generous. If I were the seller, on Offerup, eBay or LetGo, I would have honestly classified this as “reasonably used - still has a lot of life left in it”. I probably won’t care after next weekend, but this saw was categorically misrepresented. For shame, Amazon…
