I purchased these a couple months ago. They are garbage. They do not stay at the selected weight and fall apart during use. Borderline dangerous. Don’t waste your time.
I haven’t had a bit of trouble with mine. I like the Powerblocks over the Bowflex Select Techs (I own both) because they are more compact.
Snagged these last time when they were on sale and have been very pleased. I didn’t need the expandable, so if you do, or want the option, go with the EXP versions. Some may want 2.5 lbs increments (over 5 with these) and the option to go up to 90. That said, for at home use, these more than fit the bill for what I need. Solid, study, and dependable, all at an affordable price.
I did apologize to the UPS driver who dropped them off, though….
Are you absolutely sure that you’re using the selector piece properly? It sounds like you’re not putting the selector piece in the correct spot before you try to pick up the weights.

I’ve only ever had an issue like what you’re talking about when the selector pin wasn’t pushed in properly
