Rowenta Access SS Soleplate Steam Iron

Rowenta Access SS Soleplate Steam Iron

I’ve used Rowenta irons for a long time. They’re usually pretty pricey around $80 to $100+ and only time I replaced one is when the soleplate wears out or they start to leak water. Other than that I’ve been really impressed with the power 1700+ watts and steam

I have had the electronics fail twice on two different irons. I did find replacement electronics so I did not have to throw them out. But these irons are not long term reliable.

You must have bad luck with these because the model I bought a few years ago worked like a champ. The only negative was it lacked the temperature adjustment knob and was only 1600 watts.

Could you please tell me where this Rowenta is made? It makes a difference to the way it will iron

I would have to assume that this is not made in Germany. I bought a DW9081 in 2016 here on Woot, and I love it, but that was $70 on sale down from 150ish. I can’t imagine that for 40 bucks you’re getting a German model.

EDIT: checked the Mothership, says this model is from China.

Probably explains why these are priced this low. I always remember the Rowenta’s I bought were made in Germany
