Phew! Good thing you asked! Since, you know, that kind of thing isn’t something a site like woot would tell us.
You people recommending real bikes must live in a place where it never rains or snows. Must be nice. I’ll mull this over for a minute. Might pick one up for winter.

Do either come with a spot to hook up something like an iPod, or an SD card with headphones so that I can listen to music while I ride?

i honestly dont get y people need those things. i mean, if u have a mp3, they at least come w/ headphones or u would at the least buy some, so y take a hole extra step hooking it from ipod to machine to headphones, instead of just ipod to headphones
I bought one of the 126’s late last year for about $100 more. In fact, I have to be up in like 6 hours to be on it…haha.
It’s decent…actually at that price its really nice. It was fairly easy to assemble, and even came with a screwdriver/pedal wrench combo tool so you didn’t even need to take out the toolbox.
They don’t have any sort of music port or anything, the only sound they make is a little beep when you start it up / finish. There is a little metal ledge right below the computer on it that I just lay my zune on whenever I’m using it.
The computer on it is kinda dumb…but I just use it for intervals…so it doesn’t matter.
This item description is spot on. Buying 2 to flank my bowflex/towel rack.
Why compare this to a regular bike? Put some useful information on here like how it compares to other exercise bikes…
Can’t speak for these, but I have a Schwinn recumbent model. Seriously robust, well-built. Almost fun to use.
I have the recumbent version of the 126. Nearly silent, and solidly built. It’s made by Nautilus, I believe. 20 minutes a day at your recommended heart rate and you’ll feel better, sleep better and lose weight. When the weather is nice, ride a real bike!

Do these have the ability to hold a book or other reading material?
Yes… Yes it does. If you look at the photos, its got a plastic holder below the ship’s main computer.

When you’re on an exercise machine, you’re constantly moving. Something like putting it in a pocket doesn’t always work, especially since most workout clothes don’t have pockets. Places to put an ipod or an SD card makes it easier to keep it in place, since it’s designed to be put there.
I have an elliptical and it’s got a slanted screen, the only place I can put my iPod is in the water bottle holder, which sucks because like most human beings, I need water.
Hey, how much is a bowflex?
I am just going to wait 3 months, and then buy 1 from 1 of you wooters at your garage sale for $50.00
Does this come with the power thingamabob?
OMFG! The Wootcast tonight is the BOMB!
(so is the subtext of tonight’s woot)
yes, yesss… i was just thinking of remodeling the master bath, these might work!
I just got the 126. Planning to use it on days where the weather isn’t agreeable or if it’s already dark when I get home.
Does this have the ability to hold clothes hangers with clothes on them? That way these will be perfectly matched with all the other pieces of exercise equipment my wife has purchased over the years.

Could I hook up a permanent-magnet generator to this and generate electricity to sell back to the power company?
Heh. Er, thing works by magnetic resistance (aka magnetic repulsion) so it probably already has all the necessary parts…
I don’t think you can generate enough power to sell back but I seriously plan to hook a generator via a belt to power a fan…
LOL Well done!

Simply buy an iPod/Zune/Sansa/etc case (<$5 on eBay; or 99 cents at the Dollar Store). Mount it to the bike with double-sided tape (or Velcro™ for removability)… and Voila! You have an MP3 holder.
