Don’t feel bad about the delay in shipping, I ordered the DVD player on the 27th and finally got it late yesterday…it’s the way of the woot!
Couldnt they just state that the woots might take longer to ship out? Are they just drop shipping these things? Or are they waiting for the woots to get to them? I know they have some sort of an idea of how long they could take to get these out… I bought the bluetooth headset and they shipped already. they had 7000 of those things. I bet they are waiting on someone else and its nots woot.coms fault!
Woot responded to my e-mail within hours . . . .
“These should be shipping out tomorrow.”
Uh huh… sure dude.
they say most orders ship within 5 business days. once in a while it takes a little longer, but not very often. this is a great improvement over the mead digital binoculars that i already have. the memory card keeps you from losing the pics if the battery dies. for those who think these are only for pervs, i guess you never took your kids to a baseball or football game and had them disappointed that their pics came out like crap because you sat so far away.
Where’s my order 20645995 successfully wooted on
10/1/2006??
Update on this: These are finally starting to ship today. The majority should make it on the fedex truck today with a few leaving tomorrow. Sorry for the delay in shipping this.
Well. tomorrow’s about over, I still don’t have a tracking number.
Just checked with the Fedex trick and mine in due to arrive on Monday.
Tracking emails wouldn’t be going out till the morning.
Don’t feel bad, I’m still waiting for mine also.
Don’t feel bad, I haven’t gotten my order. Deer season is here and pictures as well as the deer would be nice to shoot!
I’m still wtg! After this deer arent the only thing you’ll want to shoot…
I’m still wtg too! Happy hunting…
I got an email with my shipping number. I’ve tracked it and they left Texas yesterday. Supposed to be in Maryland by Tuesday the 17th. This Woot was longer than most to ship. But, it wasn’t like these binoculars were something I couldn’t live without. Actually, they are to be a Christmas gift.
No word on mine yet
No word on mine yet either…
Got mine today and it isn’t plastic. It’s heavy, but not too heavy. They’re solid to hold and adjust smoothly and precisely.
There IS a “zoom”. The binoculars are on constant zoom. What you do is adjust the little dial on the underside while you hold the binoculars to focus on things near or farther. Not the typical zoom most are familiar with, but, very economical in terms of design for the binoculars, and, easy to get used to. It could be called an analog zoom function.
Tried it on a clear and bright day, and the images within the binoculars are stunning.
Have not tried the photo or 30-second movie functions yet. That requires batteries, and a memory card if you want to save the photos if the batteries run out. The internal memory vanishes if the batteries deplete. Recommend memory card for photos and short-video taking.
Wish I had this when I was in the Rocky Mountains last month!
Shipping was very slow, second woot in a row, but, what can I do about that. At least I have these things now, and at a seemingly fair price!!!
So I finally get mine in, cool. I do RF Tower type stuff, so these would be great, take pictures of a site survey for analysis (20 mile transmissions are fun). I play with these in my office without batteries, decent optical. I get some batteries over at my local rat shack, i plug them in and push on. Nothing happens, nothing happens a little more. Then i started noticing a smell. It was a little while after that I notice the smoke coming out of the SD slot, and then proceed to quickly remove the batteries in an effort to save the product. I think these have had it, my first woot RMA (if thats even possible) =\ Hope yalls experiance is better off.
They are indeed built solidly and these binoculars are a bit larger than I expected. The camera is best for long range photos. Even with the close-up setting, subjects should be a dozen yards away for best results. Also, daytime outdoor use is a must.
Save this camera for photographing distant objects. The lens adjustment is variable between landscape and up-close, but hard to get it “just right”. All in all, a nifty little product for the price. Woot !
