Does this model do everything that the Sphero 2.0 does?
From what I’ve read, it sounds like they are the same basic hardware but the SPRK has a clear shell as opposed to the Sphero’s white. Are there any other hardware differences?
I’ve read that the SPRK programming apps now work with Sphero 2.0, but I haven’t seen whether all of the games & such for Sphero 2.0 will work with the SPRK. If they do, then is there any reason to pay more for the Sphero 2.0 over the SPRK?
WHAT’S THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN SPHERO 2.0 AND SPHERO SPRK EDITION?
Sphero SPRK Edition includes the same sensors and electronics as Sphero 2.0 but unlike the white shell, the clear polycarbonate material brings you closer to the robotic action. You can immediately see the connection between the program you created and how the guts of your Sphero work and react.
The in-box accessories also differ. Sphero 2.0 comes with ramps and SPRK Edition includes a genius kit to help you get creative.
I’m currently waiting to hear back from Woot, but I bought one of these and received it yesterday.
1.) Right out of the box I knew something was wrong, it was so covered in scratches it may as well have been a ‘frosted’ case instead of a clear one.
2.) There was obvious visible debris and oxidization inside the case on the components
3.) It will not connect to any device. I’ve tried from 3 different androids (mine is a Note 4) and it does not show up as a bluetooth device despite all the troubleshooting steps on the mfg’s website.
I hope some of you have a better experience. But this may be one of those ‘too good of a deal to be true’ situations. ‘Factory reconditioned’ my behind…
Ordered two of these robots and received them on May 5th. One is completely worn and frosty, supposed to be clear. It covered with scratches and the printed letters are not seen. The other has a broken wheel inside. The broken white piece is still inside and making noise when running. The genius kit and guide book are not included in one of them. They are more like used and torn items instead of refurbished.
