Sundance Kitchen Cart

Does anyone have any experience with this model of cart? Could it hold up as being the prep area for the stand mixer?

The dimensions are great, the price is about right, but I would really like to use it in my kitchen. Can it hold up to being more than another place to set stuff?

Another question here: how is the drop-leaf supported? What’s the mechanism? Some can be pretty flimsy.

Here’s some positive reviews at JC Penney (price there is $300)

Looks like it’s pretty solid, but if you’re going to use the drop leaf for heavy work, you’ll need to add a support.

I read you need two people to assemble this when someone was talking about the assembly instructions. I’m currently searching for a PDF. BBS.

No luck yet. I’ll take another stab later. The important thing is this is judging by reviews you will need a little help putting this together.

*The instructions state that it requires 2 people to assemble it, and I was able to put it together with some help from my 4 yr old son. *

A good amount of reviews here:

I like the different uses other people have come up with for the cart.

Thanks! I can’t believe I went 3 for 3! But you really took that challenge and ran with it.

Darn! Got all excited when I thought this was fancy garage workbench. sigh

We are in desperate need of one of these (for long-term “temporary” floor cabinets). But our spot for it is limited… anyone know if the paper towel rack and the spice rack can just be left off? Or do those somehow come attached?

I kinda like this. I just have to wait till morning to see if I have permission to buy it. Cant wake up sleeping beauty right now and ask, cause then i’ll be talking to the evil witch instead. Evil witch always says no.

I had this in my cart until I realized the top on this is not like the top at the JC Penney site. That one is stainless steel. This one isn’t. Booo.

are we looking at the same site? Both links posted above show wood countertop.

I neeeeeeeed this! It would be fabulous for making candy and holding all of my supplies.

But I have no monies…-tear-

Can anyone tell me if the dimensions given are for the whole item assembled? As in, when it says that it is 54" wide, does that mean including the attachments or the cabinet size itself? Same for the height - is that with wheels included?

I have one that I think is the same company, just different model.

my drawers are in the middle and I dont have the drop leaf.

The only thing I needed help with was getting it up my stairs, I built it by myself (I am pretty stubborn) but I’m not a super strong chick or anything and it wasnt that hard.

Its super sturdy, I’ve had mine for over a year and love it.

someone asked about leaving off the spice rack and paper towel thing, you could. I think there will be a couple holes though.

it is 54 inches including the spice and towel rack (just measured mine)
and it is 3 feet tall with the wheels.

Correct, the 36" fully-assembled height includes the 3.9" casters.

I read a lot of the reviews, and the consensus seems to be this: The directions aren’t clear as to how to put it together. There are a ton of parts. It takes 2 to 4 hrs to put together, best with two people… Cart seemed to be sturdier when one of them knew something about building. The biggest struggle was in getting the doors hung square with no gap.
One offered a suggestion to screw the legs on, as they are supposedly just glued on, though another talked about screws and legs being difficult… So who knows. Another found success in getting it sturdy by using extra dowels and screws, and not skimping when putting it together.
I wasn’t able to find out if the spice rack/towel holder can be left off, though I imagine you can leave it off, but might be left with exposed predrilled screw holes. One person did say that she had half the towel holder ground off, and if nothing else cutting is an option.
If you prefer metal, I did see this at Ikea the other day, though it lacks a lot of the features this has.
