Excellent little watches. I’ve had a few of them over the past 15 years—only ever needed to replace it because the watchband would disintegrate (and it was more expensive than a whole new watch). They fixed the watchband issue several years ago, so no problems since then.

If only Woot had a section devoted to just watches. And maybe accessories.

Another +1 for these watches. They take a lickin’ and keep on tickin’. I wore one from 1998 to 2010 (EDIT: realized my math was off! I actually wore this watch for 12 years, not 8!), replacing the band 3x during those years. When the watch finally started malfunctioning, I bought another. That Ironman is still “going” but I’ma buy another one here at Sport.Woot just because.

Also edited to add: I am talking about exactly the watch being sold today on sport.woot. That blue Women’s one. Incidentally, my academic advisor wears the exact same watch. Hers is at least 6 years old.

For reference, the everyday price on these at Amazon is about $35 shipped.

My experience differs as evinced by the globs of ShoeGoo, Loctite Superglue, as well as electric ties (2) that are holding the band of my Timex Ironman together. The watch is prolly < 3y old and the battery has yet to die. You’d think that since I almost never remove the watch, the band would last longer d/t less flexing and movement, but apparently not. And this is not limited to Timex brand, but I have an Origo and an Oakley watch also now unwearable because of DWS (disintegrating watchband syndrome.)
That’s why I’m glad to see today’s woot! No more > $200 watches for me. They don’t make 'em like they used to, or perhaps they never made 'em like they should have?

Mine is 20 years old and still working like day 1! I used it as my everyday watch for 6-7 years, then it was my running watch. Watches with new functions replaced it (like GPS for running), not because it had any problems. Now my swimming watch. Really? 20 years old, a few battery changes and still a good enough waterproof design and materials to swim in? Awesome. Thanks, Timex, for a terrific product in an otherwise disposable world.

I’ve heard the replacement bands for the men’s watch are hard to come by … do any fellow Wooters have a link to an OEM or very similar replacement band?

I have the Timex Sport 1440, a different Timex digital sport watch. It has a large screen with a nice large display. However the digits are very faint. Very low contrast. Can anyone speak to the contrast of the Ironman’s? I’ve not owned one in like a decade. I have some Casio digital’s which seem easier to read.

Do these Ironman watches have a mode setting for an alarm?

I’ve had a limited edition Ironman watch for about ten years, and it’s been great. The specs don’t mention it, but mine also has support for multiple time zones.

I just ordered one, as they make great everyday casual watches.

Yes. At least my current Timex Ironman watch does.

The women’s list alarms, asked for some clarification on the men’s watch, this is what they came back with: “From looking at the sample and reading the instructions, it looks like just a single alarm with 5 minute backup.”

LOL!!

So I see in the description that only women watches have alarms?

Make sure they deliver what you order from woot. Just ordered 3 watches, but only got 2. I e-mailed them last week but have yet to hear from them. I recently received items I ordered over 6 months ago, I told them then about the missing items they charged me for but no response, until 6 MONTHS LATER when it got delivered. WTF?

I wear a 30-lap Ironman from 2008 and swim with it most days. The display got faint just before I replaced the battery (once), but on the whole, I’m another satisfied Ironman user.

The Amazon page says three alarms on the Men’s model:

When the watchbands break (and they will) the watch becomes worthless. Never make the mistake of buying watches with a plastic band you can’t replace.
