Are these things reusable?

Those skewers.. how do you handle them after they have been sitting on a hot grill and/or indoor broiler?

Edit: Nope, I was just hallucinating those skewers. I’ll go direct my questions about those over at the insane asylum known as sellout.woot

Those skewers hang the end outside of the grill. they do not get that hot, but they are a different woot too.

Or these also work great in an oven for baking the same fish and the planks last a long time.

yes. They also work in the oven.

Got these last time they had them - excellent deal & much larger than you normally get for the price - good clear cedar too.

finally caught these on sale!!! Can’t wait to get them and cook some fish!

Can you use these cedar planks as cutting boards? The price would be very good for that, at $1.50 per after including shipping…

That’s OK - I live in California, so grilling season is year 'round.

Oh - does that mean that they will never arrive?

Since this is 2 for Tuesday…do you get 2 sets of 12???
One of the pictures show that these Grilling Planks come boxed in a set of 6. I can only assume that the 12 pack IS the 2-for-Tuesday total.

I was wondering about that. Do they put out the same amount of cedar flavor without flames?

Make sure you put the ends ON the grill for a while to kill the bacteria, THEN hang them over the edge of the grill. It says to get the tips up to 180 degrees first to be safe.

I would think you’d need them to smoke a little wouldn’t you?

Or are cedar vapors enough?

Yes, yes and yes! I ordered these the last time they were available, I ordered 3. Sooooo worth it! We grill all the time, and grilled salmon on a cedar planks is amazing!

Is that like “dolphin friendly”?

Yes.

Electric may be out, but will these work on my gas grill?
They work fine on my gas grill. Here’s our favorite recipe to use with these.

They generally don’t smoke that much on the grill unless you’re stupid like me and forget to soak them first! I think the cedar just infuses into the meat with the heating process.

I soaked the plank for 30 minutes the first go around and it caught on fire frequently, so I had to stand around with a water bottle misting the edges.
I recommend soaking for at least an hour if you hope to not watch the grill constantly.
I grilled salmon and it was delicious with the cedar smoking!

I’m in for a set. I’ve always wanted to try this.
