I didn’t say all wines, I said a lot of wines. I was also curious about the harvest date because 2009 was a great growing season in Sonoma right up until the rains started on Oct 13th. There were a lot of Cabernet and Syrah grapes still on vines at that point so I was curious when this was picked but I couldn’t find it on the info sheet on the Caton website. I have 4 bottles of the 06 Tytanium left so I’ll probably bite on 4 of these.
I still have two bottles of the 2006 TyTanium.
If anyone in Chicago wants to get this offer and trade me one of these for a 2006 vintage, let me know.

Love Ty’s wine, and especially the TyTanium. Anyone have any experience or notes on the '09?

See my Cellartracker (in sig). I actually liked this, even though TC isn’t my favourite wine, it’s one of my favourites of his. He’s a very personable and able chap though, good customer service, and knows his market. A lot of his wine gets drunk young, by young Californians!
I’d wait til this is 4+ years to drink it, aging this for 5-10 years, but not much more. But others on this board have drunk a lot more Ty than have I.

I’m pretty positive that was from a tasting he did at Ty’s tasting room. So I would also take than into account. This is a wine that not only would need some cellaring, but probably also some decanting. And I doubt that would have been done at the tasting room. Plus, it’s probably also better with a meal.

It was, at the 8th st. 09 is too young! I remember thinking it was decent adn had potential to be very tasty in its style, though not for anything like retail…
If you like Ty’s wines, this is a great deal.
This woot off is killing me
At least no more 6l monsters have come up for me to buy. That thing finally arrived the other day.

Oh, man, we loved this stuff (albeit of a different vintage) at the tasting room, but I just couldn’t spend $80/bottle on it. With the mark-down and the shipping, this is a no-brainer, in for 1.
And, yes, I think this will need to cellar for 3 years, minimum, but I’ll make the space.
Ty, any idea on drinking window?
drinking great now, will improve over next 5-7 years and cellar for at least 10.
I’d be happy to make that swap PM me.
The 06 is just starting to get to a period where it’s ready to drink if decanted for a couple hours so I would imagine the 09 isn’t near ready to drink…at least for my tastes.
I just went in for 4 bottles, can’t resist.
I’ve only had Ty’s Cab Sauv in the past but absolutely loved that. I can’t really afford it, but I’m jumping in for one because, well, I can’t not go for it. Now I’m just hoping for a very reasonably priced Cab or Syrah deal to pop up, as my cellar is nearly empty and I need some drinking wine.

Good to know as I have a bottle downstairs that I received two weeks ago when I took advantage of the June Sale you had on the website.
I’ll have to pass on this one until I try what is in my cellar at the moment, but I am looking forward to it and will report my opinion here for the others to use. ![]()
OMF… AYFKM … my credit card is officially screaming.
I tasted this in the tasting room the week before release. It’s a big lovely tasty beast. You can drink it now … IF you have a decanter & 2 or so hours to let open up, but why? Wait a couple years and it will really start to sing! I didn’t buy it then because the tasting room rep didnt offer me “woot coupon” but I just went in for 3 at the WW price
Wine pricing is fascinating: back in the day the 2-packs of Corison were $60 and the 2-packs of Ty were $70. Then high alcohol numbers became non grata and Jonne Bonne waxes on and on about the elegance of Corison Cabs and BAM, now Corison 2-packs are $90 and Tytaniums are a relative bargain at $70.
Don’t get me wrong- I love Corison and am glad that Cathy still is making them available on woot even after her style has become en vogue enough to command higher prices. And I’ll be happy to pay a little extra if/when there are some new vintages made available. But it’s funny to see how wildly these things change.
In for 2. Couldn’t help myself.
Can’t believe it’s been nearly a year since my last w.w purchase… for shame…
Anyway, had to pick up a set to keep my sort-of-vertical going (I’ve got the 06, 08, and now the 09). Did Ty not release an 07 Tytanium (or any 07’s for that matter)?

2009 was a pretty bad vintage in Sonoma for a lot of wines because of the rainy season starting early. I wonder if Ty harvested his grapes before the rain started on Oct 13th or after?
Both, we harvested before and after the rain. 2009 is probably our best vintage to date.
Based on all the feedback here, I went for one. The challenge will be fighting off curiosity and giving it a couple years of shelf time.
How is shipping done w/ these deals. Are they held until cooler times? It’s hot outside.
Man WD, you are really bringing it today! In for one. I do love me some TyTanium. It won’t age like Corison will so only in for 1.
