The video shows the proper filter inserted in the top. The Woot photo is dreadfully wrong. If you attempted the latter configuration, your wine would end up all over the table.
I have today’s unit, and you’re basically right as far as aeration goes… but mine looks so much cooler than yours
Actually it’s quite simple to clean… just rinse it with tap water.
Periodically you may want to soak it in soapy water and run a pipe cleaner through it to remove the accumulated wine stains that adhere to its wetted surfaces.
Craig, in this chapter:
Because it was made for Sylvia! It’s a staple in her apartment, no doubt, perhaps with custom monogramming!
Why not just use a cocktail shaker?
- As others have said, Woot doesn’t even understand how to use the products it’s selling. DO NOT try to use it the way they have it in the picture. Besides being useless that way you’re going to end up with a huge mess. I think they’re trolling us.
The screen goes UNDER the glass base, so when you remove the glass, any drips from the aerator land on the screen and dissipate instead of splashing off of the black base and staining your table/counter/whatever.

Also as others have said, this belongs on Wine.Woot. Stop messing around, Woot, it’s not funny.

Does it work? Yes. Very much so. I’m not a wine drinker, at all. All wine tastes the same to me. My wife, however, is an expert. She raved about this product so I got it for her as a gift - even though I thought it was just some mental placebo effect and it didn’t really make a difference, I love her and wanted her to be happy
One night, for fun, she poured me a sip of her favorite red through the aerator, and another sip in a different glass straight from the bottle. The first time she tried this, she didn’t even tell me what she did, she just said “which one of these do you like better?” I was easily able to identify the aerator one by saying "they’re both ok enough, but this one tastes significantly cleaner and more flavorful to me. We repeated this experiment multiple times with 100% success rate on my part - not bad for a rookie.
If you’re on the fence, I vote “get it!”
