Vinturi Deluxe Wine Aerator Set

I know the value of a Vinturi aerator from experience. I bought one for my spirits from Woot in the past. I will never drink my booze straight out of the bottle again. The Vinturi Aerators are fabulous and help your taste buds experience the liquor the way it is supposed to be experienced; in full effect.

Hey I’m somewhat of a wine noob still but I’m pretty sure this is used to enhance the flavor of red wines, cheap and expensive. It’s also nice because using this you don’t have to decant your wines for long periods of time. Anything to get wine in me faster is a big plus.

Edit: Speaking of Big Plus There’s a Great woot plus over here featuring more Vinturi products!

Agreed, it’s great… but now the site is bogged and I can’t buy anything. UGH!

Welcome back! FYI: this outage was caused by severe storms in the NE that took out the Amazon Web Services (AWS aka Cloud) and affected many websites such as NetFlix, Pinterest, Skype, and more.

2 minutes ago I was watching netflix just fine… ?

I bought the red wine aerator and tower for my mother last Christmas. Got if from wine.woot The deal at the time was choose from red wine, white wine or spirits and then you could also buy the tower. Each were $22.99. I paid a total of 50.98 for the set sold here(including shipping)and it was a great deal then considering just one piece at the bigger stores is practically the same price I paid for the set. My mom uses it all the time and it really makes a huge difference in the taste of the wine. It works! After we opened presents we tested out 2 different wines. We poured some of the wine straight from the bottle into a glass and then in another glass we poured the same wine through the Vinturi aerator. It was amazing! I couldn’t believe it was the same wine. I don’t even like wine but it tasted great through the Vinturi. I had bought some Two Buck Chuck white zinfandel for my dad to try and even though you are only supposed to use red wine through it, my dad poured some Two Buck Chuck through it and it even made the white zin taste great! Cheap wine, nice wine, no matter - it made them both taste better!

I have 2 of these. Definitely worth it!

When I first read this I thought it said “outrage”. I think it works either way!

Amazon price for the set is $55, and is Prime eligible. Reviews are very good for the Vinturi device, but the overall advice is to skip the stand.

We bought this and the white wine aerator a couple of years ago. It’s really great for making that $10 bottle of wine taste like a $25-$30 bottle. I didn’t think it made a difference, but it really does. I don’t think we needed to buy the white wine one, as just removing the sediment filter should have been good enough. I’m thinking of buying this one for my cousin, for Christmas.

Something I’ve always wondered about wine aerators… while it would work for the first half of the bottle… once you get to the second half, couldn’t you just stick the cork half-way in and shake the heck out of it? Same thing…

Got one of these a while back and it does a great aeration job. Reds are drinkable after the pour.

A couple of things to note… red wines stain the aerator. Simple rinsing with water isn’t enough. Soak it in a glass of soapy water, then run a brush through the aerator… rinse really well.

The stand is a bit high for some of my wine glasses. If you don’t have long stem glassware, you get a lot of splashing. That’s OK for aeration, but not so good for leaving a mess, and losing a sip or two.

Some extensive discussion from early Woot offerings can be found here:
Oct 09’ Vinturi Woot
Dec 09’ Vinturi Woot
Strong debates and some good YouTube links. Overall the community seems to find it a favorable product. For me wine is all about patience.
edit My reply was to you firebird as I believe that your solution was addressed in the forums. Not sure I would be ‘shaking the heck out of’ any bottle of wine other than Boonesfarm apple, MD 2020, or Thunderbird (Do they still make that nonsense?) Of course there was those bottles of champagne after the NBA finals back in the day…,

To all you folks who bought these on Woot,
just curious, it is BRAND NEW, IN THE BOX, right? Want to give them as gifts.

I’ve heard arguments that you’ll “bruise” wine if you shake it, and it will end up tasting a little like a wine that’s been shaken in transit and ended up with “bottle shock.” Hmm. Sadly, I haven’t tasted enough wine to know what any of that really means.

I like a competitor product, the Soiree, a little better. That’s partly because it’s supposed to be more pure and easier to clean (glass not plastic) but mostly because it’s very fun to use - you have to upend the entire bottle to pour it! Just don’t do it over a nice rug.

Either way, this is a good price for the vinturi with stand. If you skip the stand, you can do better (usually 20 - 25 dollars for the unit by itself on sites like this).

Just a PSA: I’m wondering if folks are not participating in discussions on Woot Plus items because it isn’t obvious how to do so in this new Woot Beta world we now live in.

I posted something on the Venturi Event’s red wine aerator:

Besides clicking/tapping on the link, here’s how to get to it (similar steps for other Woot Plus items):

  1. Click/tap on the Community link at the top of the page
  2. Click/tap on the “World of Home.Woot” tab
  3. Find the item you’re interested in discussing in the list
  4. Click/tap the “Comments” link

Yes… new in the box. Be aware that if you direct ship to the recipient, Woot’s shipping label identifies the box contents—It’s my understanding that the thieves’ union complained about all the boxes they had to open… Now they can walk off with the unopened box and seem less conspicuous…

I don’t think the picture shows how to use the
Vinturi tower correctly. The picture looks like there’s two screens to filter the wine but only one is needed. The filter on top (the flat one) should be on the base on the tower, collecting drips from the Vinturi (where it obviously fits). The round filter fits into the Vinturi and provides the necessary filtration. You could use the flat mesh on top of the vinturi (as seen in the picture), but you’ll be prone to more spillage.

Edit: The plus deal shows the correct set up so I’m not sure why the used this photo for the daily deal.

I have a Metrokane Rabbit Wine Aerating Pourer from a previous Woot and like it very much. Does this have any benefits over that? It just looks like a fancier way to present the wine at table rather than aerating it any more than smaller, less showy devices. Or am I way off?
