Anyone know the difference between the 750 pro and the 5200 Pro?

The 750 Pro is a newer model with 5 presets and the squatty, wider canister which for me is a problem.
The motor is 2.2 HP because it needs to push blades that are larger because the canister is wider at the base and will need a minimum of 3 cups of liquid to cover those larger blades to work properly per Vitamix. That means it’s not possible to make 1 16-20 oz smoothy, a small salad dressing, marinade or nut butter without buying a smaller canister/blade set (32oz/48 oz or smoothie cups with adapter base) which cost an add’l $150. The 5200 can make smaller sizes bc it’s cannister was designed for it.

Is it quieter? Yes but it’s a matter of dropping the decible range from the high 80’s-90’s to the low 80’s to mid 80’s. Some say it’s noticable but they are both loud. You can lessen the sound by keeping it away from things that sound bounces off of- walls/windows/metal. An island is ideal, a cart not so much because it isn’t as stable for the motor base. Also, Vitamix suggested a towel laid flat as a single layer underneath can help dampen the sound.

Hope this helps more than confuses.

FYI, Vitamix.com runs a sale every 3-4 mons for their cannisters/accessories. The cannisters drop to $99, and if you sign up to receive the Vitamix newsletter, they will give you $25 off your 1st purchase.

Thanks 4 all the good comments and feedack about this. I did pull the trigger, finally, after many yrs.

@Wooter900042612 - thx 4 the tip on the alternate container. I did sign up. Can u give me the model # of the 32 and or 48 oz low profile container u can buy please? I did look on vitamix site and ebay but was unable 2 find one.

Went to Vitmix.com and couldn’t find a part# for the 32 or 48oz. It’s a small company.
One thing I did notice was the 48 oz comes with it’s own tamper, the 32 does not. The correct tamper for the 32 oz is called the tamper mini. It’s 11 inches which is a little over 1 inch longer than the one sent with the 750 Pro. Not sure how much dif that will make.
All the best!
