Wise Company Emergency Food Variety Pack 104-Servings

Wise Company Emergency Food Variety Pack 104-Servings

This looks like a pretty good deal, but keep the calorie count in mind. Each “serving” here is about 200-250 calories, which is about standard in all these meal pouches. So 3 servings a day will be only about 750 calories which is less than half of what would be considered adequate. To their credit, Wise has a chart on their site with the info about this. Just be sure and take this into account and either order more than going by the serving count would lead you to choose, or plan to supplement.

I think it’s really 24 meals

Entries 16 servings
Breakfast 8 servings

24 meals

The 32 servings of fruits and vegetables are side dishes (1 for breakfast, 1 for lunch, and 2 for dinner?)

The 24 desserts and sauces is a bit weird
8 puddings - dessert
8 yogurts - dessert, or a snack, or extra meals if you mix it with the fruit
8 butter sauce - guessing this is for the vegetables, though you could use it for things that didn’t come with the kit (like pasta or bread)

And 24 servings of whey milk

Basically 24 meals, though you could obviously stretch it out if needed

That’s a good breakdown, that I didn’t pickup on. it does seem to be setup as 1 person for 8 days, but even counting it as 24 meals leaves it lacking in the calorie department. Doing that ends up putting you at about 1500 cals/day. Still a bit short, so maybe consider it 1 person for 5 or 6 days. Yes, you could definitely stretch that out and survive, but if you need to use this in an emergency context, being underfed is not a great factor to add in if you can avoid it.

Again, not saying this is bad, and the calorie count/serving size seem inline with other pouch food manufacturers, just need to read all the fine print and order the right amount for the number of people and desired time.
