Wrong Item - Woot Vs Amazon

Recently ordered a Wisconsin Badgers waterbottle on Woot. Not only was the bottle they sent the wrong model but was for the wrong college - K State. Reached out to support - no worries, refunding the purchase and told me to keep the bottle. Ordered some clear LED candelabra base bulbs from Amazon the other day. Received frosted bulbs with standard base. Reached out to support - sure, we’ll send you a replacement. Just return the ones you have or we’ll charge you for those too. The value of both purchases was about $10. One time that the teacher cold learn from the student.

The aspect of “no return refund” makes sense when the logistics and additional handling costs exceeds the refund amount.

And yet, I’ve had the mothership wanting me to return broken sub-$5 items. And by broken, I really meant pieces of glass because they shipped the light fixture in the same box as two brake rotors.

Think of it this way, you’ll save a nickle on your garbage bill.

I mean, you won’t. Most of that is all flat rate, but you don’t have to carry it out to the curb just to the local drop… wait, well then again you don’t need to waste a trash baaaaa but the tape.

I’m going back to bed.

It probably has to do with the supplier as well I’d guess? Not everything comes straight from Amazon or WOOT!, some things come drop shipped from the supplier. So if the supplier wants their broken (now glitter) glass back, they can have it I suppose. As long as they are paying the shipping shrug

Haven’t I told you to stop putting your eye in your pocket? It just falls right out.

Seriously, though, where did your eye go? Do you need help looking for it?

as they walk through the warehouse. Whatever happens to hit the box goes. It was a rough week when they sent out the cast iron pots

It went into cataract surgery. Then when I got home after a day or so I ditched my glasses because my new cataracted eye is seeing so well.

So they did my dominant eye first and it is AMAZING how bad my eyesight had become. Everything all yellow and foggy.

My preference now is to not try to hard to use my old eye and mainly use my good eye.

September 14th they’re going to do the other eye so they’ll match. Just like Monk.

I hope the second surgery goes as well as the first and you can see all the things.

In my case, the sellers were Amazon and Amazon Warehouse. No third party involved.

@Narfcake I’ve had Amazon insist I return ship a bag of motor oil (yes, a bag… the ‘spill bag’ they sometimes put around spillable items). 5 quart plastic jug was split wide open at the seam, bag managed to contain 90% of the oil. Amazon CS insisted repeatedly that I had to return ship the oil before they would resolve the issue. UPS driver (rightly) refused to accept product back on his truck, citing written company policy about shipping items that could damage other packages or their trucks. Amazon continued to insist… for days of back-and-forth, even after I sent pictures showing them what they were asking me to return. I ended up getting a letter from UPS corporate, on company letterhead, stating they were unwilling to allow the item on their trucks… AND me speaking at length with Amazon CS-USA (I had to request, got transferred around a bunch of times, etc.). After easily $300 worth of CS phone time (plus incalculable value of my time), they told me I could “keep” the oil, and they sent me a replacement… which arrived UN-bagged, but undamaged. What a fiasco.

I called in and spoke with a real live human once because an item I bought was leaking. It was Victoria Secret lotion. The pump top broke off in shipping. They sent me a UPS return label. Well, that’s great except UPS won’t accept leaking items. Neither will USPS. So unless I lied and told them it wasn’t leaking, or I repackaged it, it would not be shippable. It was essentially splattered all over the interior of the box I received it in, so I basically refused. I’m not trying to fish it out and ziploc it up. They finally accepted it after a few photos and just credited me so I could just toss it. I think it was like $9 bucks?
