Pro Tip: If having trouble connecting to the camera during initial setup, put your phone in airplane mode and only turn on wifi. (make sure cell data is off) That way, your phone will talk directly to the doorbell’s wifi signal and not try to do things over the cell data connection. In my case, my phone saw there was no Internet on the doorbell’s direct wifi, so it wouldn’t complete the setup until I turned off cell data.
Is there an audible bell in the house other than on my phone? Will I be able to hear people ring the bell if I am not holding my phone? Since it connect to the existing wires, will it then still ring my existing bell?

The app worked well on my android phone (ring and video) but never could get it to work on wife’s android phone. I was never able to get it to work with my existing house bell. I tried several suggested fixes for the interior house bell but finally gave up and returned it.
The unit should come with a voltage transformer. There is a button battery inside the transformer. I pried mine open and the battery was dead, put in a new battery and the inside chime now works.
Yes. If you have an existing mechanical bell (fancy digital chimes may not work), it will ring the existing bell as well as play a sound at the camera/button itself. My neighbor jumped after pressing the button as she was not expecting the chime outside when she pressed the button. I saved the video clip to show her later!

Do you need to use the range extender? My wifi is in the same room as the front door.
Nope, mine works just fine without it. In fact, it almost seemed like the doorbell was confused with the extender and router being so close. It connected better without it
Is it possible to battery power it?
So does this work if you don’t have an existing doorbell? If not, do you need anything other than what this sale includes for it to ring inside the house and on your phone?
