Right out of the box, there was a burr running the whole length of both grips. If unobserved would have cut, they were THAT sharp.
I ended up de-burring them.

You can get a cat to do the same thing as this phone holder.
If I use this thing with a picture of a carrot on my phone will it allow me to walk or run all day?

I have a switch and one of these holders so I tested it out. It is too wide at its smallest to hold the switch top to bottom but it is able to hold it long ways without the joycons attached. It is almost at the widest it can go to hold it longways so there is not enough room for either controller to be attached. I took a picture of the gap top to bottom and the fit along the long side. I thought the switch might be too heavy but it is plenty rigid enough to use without it drooping from the weight. Hope this is helpful!
