Seriously, really FREE??
I’d be more than happy to pay for shipping! If you are really serious, please answer me back so that we can make the arrangements.
Thanks,
Debra
I bought a brand new Breville YouBrew and it lasted about 3 months and the water sensor quit working. Sent it in for repair and received a presumably new one. It lasted about 4 months and now the water heater and warming pad no longer work. Seems like a pretty buggy product to me.

Bought one of these 2 offers ago here on Woot, am on 4th unit and still not up to spec. Company was responsive at first, not so any more. Broken pieces, missing pieces, faulty electronics, etc., eventually they sent a new one and even it is not operating properly (electronics faulty). Not an awful deal at $129 if you get one that works, since it can make good coffee.

I bought the thermal carafe unit when it was last here. Then, like now, there were several stories about broken parts and lukewarm coffee. That hasn’t been my experience. I love the ability to make a single cup (large or small), or a full carafe when I have friends over.
I will say that cleaning is a hassle for an individual cup, so you may prefer a K-Cup if you never need a carafe, or use different size mugs.
I prefer freshly ground beans, and vary my consumption, so K-Cups are too restrictive (yes, I know you can manually fill them, but what a major hassle for a single cup).
The only fault common to these units is that the internal clock loses time. If you like to have a fresh brew waiting when you wake up, you’ll occasionally need to reset the clock. I emailed Breville twice on this issue, and never received a response. Since I rarely use that feature, it’s not been a big issue for me.
BTW… did I mention that the brew is good.

Deal - Send me your info.
[MOD: No emails in forums, pls. Use Private messages.]
Sure thing, I’ll even add a little extra for the trouble to pack it and drive to the P.O. Let me know what shipping would be to Zip 19076. Thanks
I bought this unit during its last sale in January. I’m no coffee snob. I drink coffee, I like coffee, and I don’t have to go around telling others how much their coffee tastes stink.
It has worked flawlessly and I use it daily, mostly making single cup but I use the carafe as well. I have used preground coffee (as to not wake roomies) and I grind using its grinder as well. Its easy to clean and very easy to use. I would highly recommend this unit.
I must be confused about what you are stating, because, depending on the amount of coffee one drinks, one can go for several days without refilling the water reserve or bean hopper. The only time I have ever had trouble with it was the one time I made the mistake of trying to “top off” the reserve WHILE the unit was brewing. (THAT time ALL of the water passed through the system.)

Really nice unit. I wish it was the 600 thermal version. Deal breaker: it cannot calculate the water needed. It uses all the water in the reserve and uses the corresponding amount of beans.
The thermal version lets you set the amount of water so you don’t need to fill the reserve daily. I know, you think this isn’t a big deal. But it is, it’s so tall I need to pull it out to refill it.

I bought this unit back in Jan., shortly after having family stay for a few days. Only having a French press is fine for living alone or with another, but supplying two coffee sops with their morning fix became an ordeal.
I love the fact that I can press a few buttons and have it grind and brew a cup just the way I like it (in roughly 6 minutes) and my girlfriend can then throw in her pre-ground flavored coffee in the filter and brew hers. The carafe awaits family visits. The really nice thing about this unit is the fact that all the parts needing to be cleaned are either removable or easily accessed.
From my understanding the 550 glass model does not calculate water. It uses all of the water in the unit if you use the carafe setting. If it is filled all the way up that is how much coffee it makes. So, to make 6 cups you need to add that exact amount of water. If you add enough for 8 cups of water, it makes 8 cups.
It does measure water for single cup. This was documented on multiple sites and Amazon reviews.
I’ve been waiting for this to come back on woot since I passed on the last offering. We currently have a Krups grind & brew. It is messy, stores grinds in a chute until the next use and impossible to clean. With all of that being said, I’ve had it for about 5 years now. This is an easy upgrade for me, especially given the option to brew directly into a cup/mug.
It does sound like the 2 year square trade warranty may be worth it.
In for one. I decided that the temp > the water calculation. I don’t want to pre-heat the thermal pot. That defeats the purpose of setting it in the morning.
Actually. I am serious. Sorry it’s sold.
Missed out on this “deal” last time. Managed to find it at a discount on Amazon so I bought the thermal carafe version (quite eagerly) expecting to have a great experience. Unfortunately unlike similar machines, it doesn’t allow you to select how much coffee to grind, it decides for you. The unfortunate part is that even the lowest setting uses way more coffee than I would so I’ve had to either water it down or use the cup-at-a-time to get close to what I like. As for cleaning it, it’s just annoying. Had to get the first one replaced by the company because it quit brewing (after 2 months). The service was great i’ll admit, they sent me a replacement and then had me send the old unit back. Still I’m thinking I just might see if I ca unload this on ebay or somewhere and at least get some of my money back. I’ve bought other things on Woot that I’m quite happy with but this one just wasn’t in that category. Wish I had gotten it on Woot, I would at least have paid less.
I purchased one last time it was on, and LOVE IT!!!
I too roast at home and enjoy a good espresso in my La Pavoni!
My comment is based on the idea that, more often than I care to bet on, the machines seem not to work well, especially for $129.95.
I’ll get a better brew from a $3.95 Melitta filter cone on top of a cup.
But thanks for assuming I buy Folgers. You know what they say about the word “assume.”
I’ll retire to Bedlam…
