TONS of great reviews on the A6202 model over at wayfair.com
TONS of great reviews on the A5201 model over at wayfair.com
I have bought one.
The cat has two trees already.
I am trying to build a cat forest.
It seems almost all cat trees are made with the faux covering now. Nothing but a thin smooth material that the cat does not scratch. They only scratch the sisal rope. The older trees were covered with carpeting that cats like to claw.
It’s true that they love the carpeted kind, but it also trains them to pick on the wall-to-wall. I think that’s why that’s been changing. They don’t complain about the sisal too much, so I guess the cats can deal with it.

It’s changing because it’s cheaper.
My cats want carpet. And so I will pass until they offer one up !
My cats could decimate one of these in about a month.
These look great, but I really need to know more about the boxes they’re shipped in - since my cats are going to be sitting in the boxes, staring at the trees…
I’ve had a cat tree from this company for probably…5 years now? It’s a bit bigger than these, but same brand and the fluffy fur covering. I have to say it’s held up fantastically. We have 3 cats and this is their scratching post and a favorite nap spot.
We haven’t done so yet, but you can order replacement parts, so if your cat really tears up the posts you can get a new one. The light faux fur stuff is super easy to vacuum, but the round hammock (their favorite spot) is pretty disgusting and matted at this point.
My husband assembled it, but did it without my help and it’s taller than he is. So I think it’s quick and easy assembly. It does ship in quite a few square boxes though as I recall. So shipping for $5 is a steal.
We bought ours on eBay and paid more than this, but again, ours is larger. It’s great quality and if I needed a new one I’d be getting one of these. But 5 years and going strong is a pretty good endorsement.
My cat is pretty big…when stretching up on his hind legs, his paws reach past the 4’ mark on my stomach. He’s a bit round in the middle, too…sometimes looks like he might have eaten a bowling ball (ok that’s a slight exaggeration…) Would he even fit into one of the cubbyholes on these?

My cats are smallish and look huge on the $70 one. They do (amazingly) use both the house and the hammock - and of course all the levels. They have never gone in the tube which would work very well for only a kitten. But a decent tower - they love the rope for scratching.
Charroch, I don’t know for sure but cats can make themselves small to fit into tight spaces. I have a big fat girl cat and she sleeps in the cubby of my small cat tree all the time (although part of her sticks out). She is the size of 20 pound butterball turkey.
Cat in the Hammock…a classic.
I own the tall one with the hammock. My cats never use the hammock, they prefer to try and fight with it, so I just keep their toys in it.
My younger cat loves scaling the side of the thing like a real tree, and the tall columns make that possible for him. My only complaint: the very top platform wobbles, so they don’t go up there very often.
I’m thinking about maybe adding a little support between the little house on the second level and the second platform, I’m sure that would steady it. The issue is the second platform is on two legs only, so the third platform sways back and forth.
Never tipped over, and I don’t think it ever would, but that little sway freaks my cats out enough they don’t often get to enjoy the whole tree.
This is a great deal, and I don’t mind the soft fuzzy material vs. the carpet. It just means my dumb cats won’t be scraping/chewing off carpet fibers and choking on them/leaving them scattered around my home.
edit: they also LOVE the rope that dangles down through the first platform. They’re always biting and kicking it, and it’s sturdy enough that I don’t worry about them breaking it or tearing it off. The first time I set it up, my boy cat fought the rope, then tried to carry his trophy into the other room and got yanked back! I almost died laughing. Entertaining for me AND the cats!
I had a cat tree years ago that tipped over and fell on my Siamese. It damaged his internal organs and blinded him. We had to put him down. I will never buy a cat tree again.

Did you ever try to tighten the screws / bolts after the thing was assembled? Mine is quite sturdy (have had for several months with 5 kittys using it)
I think it’s great and a superb price vs. pet stores.
Interesting. Ours (http://www.armarkat.com/products/X7805-Parts.html) had the same kind of hammock and the rope and our cats used neither. We actually ended up heavily modding this thing and moving some of the pieces around and removing others - it’s all the same connectors so you can do that which is nice! I’ve never thought of it as wobbly except when our cats are fighting over the round hammock (part I in that diatram).

This is a great brand, got mine on E-bay over 10 yrs ago. It’s a larger one, still sturdy, a little warn but very sturdy. I have 4 cats! Well worth this great price.
