For the uninitiated, refurb Dysons are not reliable. Bought two from Woot, one for the office, one for home, and both broke in under 6 months, just outside of warranty.

Wow! Before this post I don’t think I’ve ever seen anyone so bluntly rebuke the Dyson vacuums.

Warranty for Refurb is 6 months so if they broke in under 6 months you should have been covered.
I do agree with the Refurb, I bought mine here on Aug10th ( and higher price ) but it is awesome. However 4 days ago it stopped working. Dyson overnighted a new battery and charger which should be here tomorrow free of charge no questions asked, other than what it did when I pulled the trigger.

I must be lucky. Have had two Dyson refurbs, one of them this model, and they’re still going strong after 18 months. Love them.

I too have experienced no problems with refurb Dyson products
Not a bad little vac, keep it for cleaning up small spills, easier than a broom. My wife basically gave up on it. she likes more power.
Where it shines is in the car, it does a great job in small spaces. I don’t advocate spending a couple hundred on a car vac, but it does keep my car looking spiffy inside.
apparently it breaks at six months, I got mine in June…I might actually buy another if it craps out.
Purchased this the last time around. Good vacuum, but be warned that when they say ‘refurbished’ it is in operation only. Possibility of tons of scuffs, scratches, and cosmetic wear. Mine looked like it had been banged around a bit.
We purchased a refurb here (higher price) specifically for quickly vacuuming up the pet hair “tumbleweeds” that are so apparent on the tile and hardwood flooring. It also does well with fine dust.
Due to the run time(~20mins, less on TURBO mode), this will not replace your regular vacuum, but I reach for this every time first. It is basically the best dustbuster you will ever own.
The wall/charging mount that is included has a slim profile and sits well in the hall closet. I do not know why dyson does not have pictures, I found these when I was researching: Dyson DC44 Animal Slim Bagless Handheld Stick Vacuum Review
We have three refubs, and they’ve all been great. Battery life isn’t amazing (15 minutes or so), but it can’t be because of the size. That said, I can get about 750 square feet of cat hair sucked up on one charge. We rarely if ever pull out the big Dyson anymore.
And I like this way more than the Hoover Linx that we had. This goes flat, so you can get all the way under furniture. It’s lighter, or feels that way, has more power, and I feel like it lasts longer than the Linx did.
In the picture it looks like the vacuum is being operated by a steely disembodied robot hand.
I have also had no significant problems with my Woot Dyson refurb, and I’ve been using it for years. The one tiny issue I had, with a broken plastic retainer tab on the storage area, Dyson replaced for me immediately even though it was technically out of warranty.
I see that Woot! is pushing this as a Christmas gift, I hope that the gift package comes with a first aid kit because if you give this to your wife for Christmas (or some other holiday) you will need a first aid kit.
Bought my Dyson DC 35 on Woot! back on 5/19/12 and it’s still going strong for me. the battery was a little loose in the handle after awhile, but I was able to fix it with pliers by adjusting the electrical contacts.
Best purchase ever for us, especially as new parents with a toddler in the house.

Same here, mine just arrived yesterday, exactly two weeks after purchase. It is scratched, scuffed, dusty and VERY used in appearance. I am really disappointed. I always thought that Dyson was the Apple of Vacuums and it would arrive looking practically brand-new, as my Co-workers pink one did. She ordered from Woot ~8 hours after I did and got hers delivered to the same address last Friday. Mine didn’t arrive until yesterday.
I’m going to call Dyson to voice my concern over the appearance. Perhaps Dyson shouldn’t use such glossy, dark surfaces that get scuffed so easily. My Shark Rotator Lift-Away 3-in-1 still looks brand new after 7 months of normal use and I think this is due to the color and finish of the product.
As a long time Wooter, I had high hopes for a great refurb product, especially after waiting two weeks for delivery. Woot! and Dyson have failed
