Though not strictly necessary for this thread - since these speaks are shielded - the heads-up about magnetic shielding being necessary for center-channel speakers placed directly on a TV is a good one.

About 3-4 years ago, Ubid got a slew of Michaura speakers that sold for as little as $19 per pair at one point.
Turns out they are made by Axiom (some people even prefer them to Axiom’s), and the business model that was planned was that they were going to direct sell on college campuses, but the business croaked after 9/11.
I bought one pair of bookshelf ones and they are great…very well built…wish I would have loaded up, and even bought some of the towers they were selling. They pretty much have a cult following.

You must be checking too late. This didnt sell out until 8:00 CDT.
Got two sets of these to replace the front 3 speakers in my home theater system. They are replacing a 5 year old set of Infinity Minuette speakers that have been driving me crazy because they really have no mid-range. Going to keep the surrounds to save money and b/c the fosgate’s won’t work due to their size.
That said, I’m going to have one extra Fosgate speaker left over that someone who bought a pair of these could use as a matched center channel. Only looking for cost plus shipping. Any interest? Email me at charles_sutton@yahoo.com. If not, eBay, here we come!

The ones on this website look like it’s $170 each, whereas the Woot was for a pair. Good woot. Too bad I missed it

Nope. Listed as pair. May consider that option. Need to do more research as I haven’t heard much about this brand. Anyone have any rants or raves about these?

I got my first pair of Hafler monitors along with a Hafler 12" subwoofer when 800.com went out of business. In that time, Fosgate Audionics purchased the Hafler consumer line of products which was these 61.0’s the smaller 51.0’s the corresponding centers and the 8, 10 and 12" subwoofers. Since that time, I picked up the FA 6 series center and another pair of FA61.0s The build quality of these speakers is great, they are seriously solid. I have them attached to a Sony 3000ES receiver and never really push them at all. Get your crossover set for your sub and you’ll be shaking the house down.
I love my setup so much that I bought my brother a 5.1 setup from the 51 series with 10" subwoofer for his small apartment.
I honestly don’t know why Fosgate stopped manufacturing these, they never even marketed them after the Hafler purchase. I took a chance and fell in love, you’ll be happy too.
Another reason I’m glad I work nights on the West coast!

But the reason I object to your constant posting of your link, and your really tiresome and sycophantic posts about Woot, is that I can see no other reason for the site you link to to exist other than to make money. And the more you post that link, the more I am convinced that you are indeed receiving a commmercial benefit for your posts here. And that, I think, can't be within either the rules, or spirit, of this forum.
Go ahead and continue, Peteromans. Maybe there's a reason I don't know about which allows you to continue to post here. But please don't pretend that you're not posting to bring money into your website's account. You plainly are.

Hi Folks,
First time here. Have only purchased a couple of Woot items since I found the site. I did buy a pair of the Fosgate speakers and I am totally in the blind as to what to pair them up with. I would like to have a good stereo, but if possible could I get some suggestions as to a reasonable unit to look for? Does Woot ever have an appropriate receiver (If that is what I need … :? …and I hope that is the correct term)? Any help :idea: will be greatly appreciated…
