Herman Miller Aeron Chair

This chair is cheaper brand new (open-box with 10 year warranty) on Ebay… lmao

They also sell it for the $300 range as a refurb. Same specs, same size, same 1992 design.

They have over 3000 sold by this seller.

Woot: Warranty: 90 Day Woot Limited Warranty
Ebay: 10 Year Warranty - Madison Seating doesn’t just talk about dependability – we back it up! In the unlikely event that your chair should fail under normal workplace use as a result of defective material or workmanship, Madison Seating promises to repair or replace it with comparable product.

Woot - taking the L; shame the staff doesn’t do the same simple search before posting it. Ebay, camelcamelcamel, slickdeals aren’t private trade secrets.

Any warranty they give you might as well be worthless, if you were to pack this chair in a box and ship it in for service or return, it will cost you almost $200 through UPS because it comes in a huge box fully assembled. I know from when I tried to help my friend return their Steelcase Leap when they switched to an aeron.

Also, if you check their website, they don’t claim all their OpenBox products are ‘new’
WHAT IS AN “OPEN BOX” PRODUCT

The “Open Box Specials” featured on our website are a great way to save money on the bestselling ergonomic chairs on the market today.

“Open Box” simply means that the item has been removed from its original packaging. The chair was returned, refurbished, reconditioned, reupholstered or the price has been reduced due to an overstock of open box inventory.

Our “Open Box” products are in excellent working condition with only minor cosmetic wear and will include a Madisonseating.com warranty.

ebay seller, ebay honesty.

That is fair. it’s also fair noting they have no complaints of quality of the chairs, with over 3000 sales, there was 1 complaint 12 months ago in the feedback.

There are also plenty openly labeled as refurnished for under 400.

Woot can do better.

Note that the pictures show the older (pre-2016) version. So when they say “refurbished,” think used, not open box. You may be getting a 20 year old chair which has been cleaned up.

So us fat guys still sit on our 3 legged “milking stool”?

I am sitting on this chair right now! I did not buy it, i’m at work.

I’ve had this chair for 10 years and nothing has broken on it. Its comfortable for desk work. The mesh seat allows your farts to drift away with ease.

I’m sitting in one as I type this. It’s my every day office chair. It’s comfortable, and I’ve had no back issues since I started using it.

We have these all over our office. I’m surprised that they are so expensive - and that other people here like them - because I believe it is the worst chair I’ve ever used.

I find it mildly interesting that the size is not mentioned until the very last bullet point, as they are manufactured in three sizes to accommodate users who are small, medium or me.

I’ve used one of these chairs at my previous place of employment and loved it.

I purchased one of these chairs many years ago after going through so many pieces of junk. My wife finally convinced me to spend the extra bucks and buy a quality chair for my home office.
I’m still using it to this day and it looks as good as the day I bought it (at least 10 years ago).
Very functional with many adjustments for most anybody’s preference.

Do you have any input as to why it’s the worst chair you’ve ever used? These are consistently considered some of the highest-quality, most popular chairs on the market.

Also note that, based on the pictures, these are base chairs with no Lumbar or Posture Fit feature.
