I fall for it every time! The picture shows the Kershaw Vapor knife, but then I click in, and there’s no vapor to be found. Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me 47 times… I apparently have a problem.
Good eye my friend! I was just about to make that exact point when I saw your post. Great minds DO think alike!
I’ve checked the prices on Amazon, and basically, Woot is a little cheaper, but till you pay the postage charged on Woot, you might as well buy on Amazon, unless you are ordering several knives. Plus, Amazon is easier to deal with if you have to make a return or exchange.
Why can I (seemingly) buy these knives on Amazon and a half dozen other sites I’ve checked but Woot refuses to deliver them to my zip code in NY?

Not to mention the issues some people in NY seem to have when purchasing knives from woot.
Great deal on the Skyline, actually. Best EDC I’ve ever owned.
Checking on other sites, it looks as if the Kershaw Funxion EMT knife is made in China, not USA, which the spec page says. Very disappointing, was about to snatch one up too.
Edit: here is a link to the amazon page.

Agreed. This is the best price I’ve seen on these, and they used to be harder to find. Might have to grab another…or two
Big fan of a couple of the Kershaw knives here.
The Skyline is an unreasonably nice pocket knife: simple, no drama, thin but substantial, and startlingly smooth opening movement. It doesn’t have spring assist, but the opening movement from the flipper is so smooth I thought it did at first. And it’s us-made with excellent steel. By contrast, the very similar Chill knife is just on the wrong side: too thin, cheap metal, and almost enough mass to make the blade action smooth, but not quite. If you’re in the market for a pocket knife that isn’t a testosterone-fueled grunt; more Bond’s jacket pocket than Rambo’s loincloth – buy the Skyline.
Oh, and if the idea of H.R.Geiger in your pocket does something for you, the Kershaw Starter knife will make you smile. Very nice blade with double the weight of similar-size Kershaw knives. Weird, but good weird.

The Funxion series are still quite nice. My teenage kids each have the red one; it’s seriously beefy and the tail clip is nice (locks the blade shut when clip is in use)… yet it’s visually similar enough to pass as a marginally nonthreatening Swiss Army knife, very much downplaying the “I AM A TEENAGER WITH A KNIFE!!!11!!1” effect. I don’t condone them breaking those particular rules in today’s all-students-are-terrorists climate, but I do appreciate their sense of subtlety if they are gonna break rules.
Buy a Skyline…awesome value for an EDC. I’ve become a big fan of most Kershaw knives and my collection continues to grow. Also love my OSO Sweet.
skyline has life time warranty from CRKT…
I own all of these Kershaw knives below, with my rating:
(B-) Kershaw 8100 Funxion EMT with SpeedSafe, Black:
Woot price = $19 + shipping
Amazon Price = $28 prime
(A-) Kershaw 3830X Injection 3.5", Black:
Woot price = $20 + shipping
Amazon price = $25 prime
(A+) Kershaw 1555TI Cryo Stainless Steel, Gray:
Woot price = $19 + shipping
Amazon price = $31 prime
(B+) Kershaw 1605X Clash, Black:
Woot price = $19 + shipping
Amazon price = $28 prime
.
I own the Skyline and love it. It’s slim but easy for my large hands to grip, light, opens quickly with one hand, locks up firmly and the two position clip lets me carry it in the position I prefer. It’s also fairly easy to disassemble for cleaning if you’re the type who regularly disassembles things.
But be aware: Kershaw made a very weird choice in blade length for this knife. A lot of municipalities (particularly large cities) ban carrying knives with blades over a certain length and 3" is the most common limit that I’ve seen. At 3.1" the Skyline is a hair long. Of course you should check your local codes.
I bought the emt knife on a black Friday deal a couple years ago from Amazon, the rubber grip on the handle came off I had to super glue it. 6 months later the belt clip snapped. also found the belt clip kept getting lose and had to keep tightening the screws. when it did break Kershaw lived up to their lifetime warranty and sent me a replacement belt clip.
Ok, ok, I ordered the Skyline too
It’s July 27, 2015 and I still can’t order a knife from woot due to restrictions based on NO LAW THAT EXISTS OR HAS EVER EXISTED.
Kindly remove this restriction at your earliest convenience.
For the love of GOD!
Will you people PLEASE fix that GD zip code list for prohibited areas to ship knives to?
THAT LAW IS NYC ONLY!!!
I live 350 freaking miles from NYC and we have no such laws here!
