Lots of good reviews at amazon
got one of these in stainless(4200 model) in last BOC a few months ago and just used it for the first time to boil 4 ears of corn.
It did a great job and I suspect it will have a 1001 uses. The wire lift out basket makes it easy to remove your vegetables etc out of the hot liquid
How thick is the bottom? Is this a stamped deep drawn aluminum pot or is it forged?
We have one of these - great for boiling eggs.
I prefer the 4200 model. It’s better made, nicer looking, and handles that are sturdy.
I too had a handle break on one of these after I used it a few times, I didn’t think to contact woot, but I will now and see what they say.
I got three of these last time and really like them. So far I have used them primarily for boiling eggs and shrimp(works well - the basket is especially nice for taking them out and dunking in cold water after cooking and I actually just put the eggs in the fridge in the basket afterwards) and water. So far they have worked well. I was worried about the nonstick lining with the basket, but so far it doesn’t seem to be a problem. The pot seems to be fairly sturdy and well made. We haven’t had any issues with the handle as another person noted. I would buy again.

I was thinking the same thing.
I purchased these last time based on the reviews here at Woot and also QVC where they were selling them before. Handy for eggs, but I eat gluten free pasta and this surprisingly cooks the whole package. (Can’t use the basket-holes too big, but I just pour it into a collander). Besides fitting on the back burners when using a large fry pan, I have used it to boil potatoes, beets. Also Popcorn. place about a teaspoon of coconut oil or Popcorn oil. ( I use Wabash Valley Farms-maker of the whirly pop) heat the oil for about 30 seconds add 1/4 to 1/3 c popcorn and swirl around to coat the kernels. set it back on med flame and shake the pan a bit every 30 seconds or so. listen to the popping. If you grab it just as soon as it is done popping, hardly any unpopped kernels. Clean up is a snap. drop of detergent-swish and rinse. Stopped using the Whirly pop and my air popper. I think it would be great to make Ice cream base and pudding. can just pour it out of the pot. Handle could be an issue, but I think Kuhn Rikon will stand behind their warranty. By the way, I purchased the Stainless steel version from Amazon, since I missed the woot. I will continue to use the non-stick for Popcorn and other things where non-stick would work better.

Frying requires a wide and heavy pot. Tall ones are kitchen fires that just haven’t started yet, and thin metal like this won’t retain heat once you drop the food in.
Great for making pasta quickly, especially the wine flour pasta, which wine.woot would have more of that stuff…

hater.
I got one last time and have only used it to make chocolate and some other hot drinks that require cooking so far. The pot was a bit larger than I expected, which is good, and the handle is way shorter than I’d like. And it seems like liquids take a while to come to a boil due to the shape.
But I still wish I would use the pot more because it just looks and feels so darn useful!
But it really needs a longer handle.

I bought three (of the original design) and like them a lot, but don’t use them as much as I thought I would. I do like making sauces with them because the immersion blender won’t spray it all over the kitchen.
it says sold out but the button is flashing?!>!
