Mirage Home Theater Speakers

'Grrr…centers…what about rosewood…" - in 3, 2, 1…
Grrr…burled maple OMD - 28 (that’s me).

What no rosewood omd-15? Silly!!!

Another shout out for OMD-15 rosewood

Woot is selling them on Amazon for $30 more…

Yeah, would have expected the Rosewood C2 to make a showing at the next Mirage event, i.e. this one. What happened? Are we ever going to see these? Surprised there are no C1 or C2 speakers on Amazon (from Woot) or here at all…

That’ll cost me $60 + tax. I’ll wait :stuck_out_tongue:

I accidentally (put in cart and forgot to remove before purchasing) bought a black C2 along with my C1 last time and am not interested in paying the 15% restock fee. So, C2 for sale! PM if interested.

Yes, Rosewood C2 didn’t make the last event, was also hoping it would be on this event. Also still showing my interest in the OMD-R’s if they ever choose to build them again.

I’d urge caution here.
I’ve purchased 6 Mirage speakers recently. 1 from amazon and 5 from Woot. Of these, 3 arrived with no issues. The other 3 all have issues and i’ve received some help from Woot, but not enough for me to say I’m satisfied. Why? Well first, there do no seem to be ANY parts available to either fix damaged grilles or replace parts that were never installed. None. From Woot or from Klipsch who now owns this but sorta chuckles when I call for support on Mirage. ‘Talk to Woot’ they say ‘We have nothing for these Mirage speakers.’ Well neither does Woot.
Now, the BIGGEST issue is that just last weekend, after having a pair of OMD-28s for 3 or so weeks, I decided to remove my quick connect banana plugs and connect the speakers with spade lugs. To do this, I needed to lie on the floor to line up the lugs. When I did this, I could see for the first time that the wood (actually MDF) cabinet is CRACKED right at the speaker terminals. Runs for about 2 inches and the surface of the MDF sticks out 1/8 inch at the crack. It is near impossible to see when standing. So I contacted Woot and they said it’s past 21 days so they will do nothing and I should contact Klipsch, who just now told me they will do nothing.
So all in all, I think anyone buying Mirage from Woot is treading on very thin ice since Woot’s return policy is very restrictive AND there are no parts to fix any issues. I haven’t had an issue with an actual speaker cone etc yet but I would expect the same to be true - no replacements available.
I am going to contact Woot one more time and see if they will help with this cracked speaker and if they do the right thing, I will post back.
Good luck all.

So the 5 year warranty means nothing?

email me your contact information and I will get it replaced. we will stand behind everything we sell. id rather handle off line and if you are satisfied with the results you can post this publically.

Warranty stands. If klipsch support doesn’t help satisfactorily pm me and I will make sure you are happy!

I have removed a comment I posted here about my problems with Woot customer service after having read huntsetter1’s posts above. I have contacted huntsetter1 and am very hopeful he or she can help with my Mirage issues.

huntsetter1: I placed 2 PMs in your woot community mailbox several hours ago. One contains my contact information. I didn’t think I’d need to post here that I did it. Please respond as soon as you can. Thank you.

I do not know how to access my own woot mailbox if I have such a thing.

Go to the community page, like http://electronics.woot.com/forums/?ref=sh_cmty

And click on the envelope icon which is to the right of the tabs:
Electronics Woots
Woot Plus
World of Electronics.Woot
Everything But Woot

I just sent you a PM, so you should see a number on that envelope icon for how many PM are in your box.

Thanks, I got it and replied.

I’ve had the OMD-28’s for a little over a month now and they are phenomenal speakers. For the price they’re an absolute steal.
A note on woot customer service - one of the speakers was damaged in transit and once I contacted the correct customer service branch (“there’s something wrong with my order” - don’t bother with “where’s my order” they don’t care about you and your tracking number usually does their job anyway) a replacement speaker was sent almost immediately. They even expedited the shipping to overnight or 2nd day - can’t remember which but on a 70+ lb. item - very impressive. Huntsetter (the Klipsch rep) does an excellent job of addressing questions and concerns regarding Klipsch and Mirage products. Buy with confidence.
OMD-28 in burled maple! PLEEEEEEEASE!!! (I’d gladly pay a bit more)

have a question about OMD28,
so the price listed is for single speaker right?
to buy in pair, need to choose quantity 2?

looks like customer service did a pretty good job with your speakers! I’m considering buying one but little worried about the transit.
so for all the floor standing speakers, the price listed are for single speaker only, not in pair, right?
