Netgear? Man are they junk. Run away, run away fast!
May make a decent door stop though. Nah, it would fail at that as well.

Net gear has always been good to me? I guess you are just biased…

Get a D-Link…works great & reliable! My laptops in the house feels like a high speed desktop.

I had a d-link went to this exact router because d-link cut access constantly and I would have to re-boot. Netgear Has always made quality products.

I wouldn’t waste time with this router, especially at this price (though it is being bundled with an equally crappy adapter, so I guess it’s got that going for it). I’ve been using this router for a while, and it can’t keep up with my broadband speeds. Also doesn’t support many simultaneous connections, so if you like to torrent “Linux distros” then this is going to choke, either throttling your connection or locking up, taking down your wireless network. Mine is about a year and a half old, and it’s radio is starting to flake out on me, so I’ve got a new other-brand router on the way that will do draft-N, support my broadband speed, and support about 4x the connections.
[/quote]
This is wireless not broadband, Of course it won’t match the speed. If you are having problems maybe you should flash the modem with the new firmware.
I suggest operating it without the blue router lights on and remove it from between your mattress
PS. The router lights off may actually help

I have owned and used this same setup (router and USB adapter) for over a year. Never had any problems - connection never drops, it doesn’t overheat, and it was very easy to set up. The range is great, and I frequently sit on my deck and surf the net with no drop in speed. In fact, I am using it right this minute. Couldn’t be happier with it.

Agreed! Excellent modem powerful coverage no drops!. Looks like the negs are spam from who knows?
Just received my delivery…I got a Netgear Storage Central SC101 instead of the router…anyone else?
-kd
Long time Wooter first time in the chat. I got the same thing?!? I see that there where only 48 of these sold, did some one loose count and then send these in there place. If so why was there no warning in the forum like they tell you when your order is placed. I Have a New laptop with G and wanted to upgrade my wireless network with this! Hey Woot where is my Wireless G network kit?
I contacted support…we’ll see what happens. They’re usually a bit surly…once got shorted a flying monkey from an order and all they did was credit me $1.00.
I couldn’t use this thing even if I wanted to (which I don’t because I have a Popcorn Hour), because my router is busted. Funny trick, sending a network attached storage to a bunch of people who are obviously lacking in the network department.

Edited to note that Support was responsive and will be sending a replacement, along with return shipping label for the incorrect delivery. They were very helpful this time around.

helps us woot we are sad
I just got the same thing too…WTF!
shafted again: also recieved Netgear Storage Central SC101 with no explaination- I have no use for this but needed the router!!! Come on guys get with it.
Not only isn’t it the right item but Amazon has the Storage Central SC 101 for $63.00 & free shipping so it isn’t even any kind of deal if someone did want one/this has got to go back. Waiting to hear from support. Did anyone get router bundle?
Actually this was a good deal…

That’s not the product I received. That one has hard drives, and additional connections.
I got this, which is worthless:

yah that one on newegg is gigabit the one they sent us is only 10/100 and but it dose have 2 250 gb ide drives in it
Now I’m twice as annoyed. I got the Storage Central instead of my Wireless, but it didn’t arrive until today. So twice the burn. At least I didn’t pay more than they sold it for as todays item.
