(NEW) Apple Watch Series 4 (GPS) - 44mm

(NEW) Apple Watch Series 4 (GPS) - 44mm

Bought this watch as a gift for my mother and she just opened it yesterday it is DOA. I called Apple since I bought it 30 days ago but Apple refused to honor the 1-year warranty Woot stated it comes with. I emailed the customer service and awaiting their response. I am not looking for a refund but to use the 1-year warranty supposedly provided by Apple to fix the watch. Thoughts ?

Did you register the watch to reset the warranty?
Try speaking with a different rep and make sure you point out that Woot is part of Amazon.

Also, try charging the watch overnight.

(Please Note: I’m not employed by Woot, but I volunteer to help in the forums.)

No, I didn’t register the watch as I thought the watch will be tied to her account once she sets it up using her iPhone. Is there a weblink to register the watch but simply logging to iCloud and entering the serial number.

Yes, I tried three different chargers and charged the watch overnight, no go. It sounds like a dead battery to me.

I will call back apple again, but I did explain that Woot is a sister company of Amazon, but the agent doesn’t seem care who the seller is. According to her the warranty has expired 1149 days ago and no longer has Apple warranty.

Warranties for computers and electronics of this type are tied to the retailer first. Then when you register the item, the warranty should reset.

Make sure you show Apple a printed order and write the serial number on it.

I called Apple again and got a different agent. This agent said the device is missing a purchase date and is why a valid warranty coverage does not show up. She asked me to screenshot and send my Woot receipt with a serial number written on it, which I did and got a repair case opened. Hope this might help someone in the same boat I am in.

Thank you pepper114 and ThunderTights!
