I’m sorry… anyone who thinks this Dinner in a Box is a good deal has more money than sense. But then again… get with me. I’m sure we could come together on a business venture
How on earth can you call it a Thanksgiving dinner without any stuffing/dressing!?
- Estimated delivery Dec 05 - Dec 11
Yeah, but the good by date is next Thanksgiving, so…
Well, under “Features”, it does say this:
Buy This & Receive…
(1) - Omaha Steaks Thanksgiving in A Box Combo
Guaranteed delivery before Thanksgiving
But if it’s late, just have Thanksgiving Leftovers in A Box.
Is this an appropriate gift for a 7 year old?
I got a “no” on the 'shrooms.
For $99 consider Hello Fresh, I’ve never used them but I used to work for Omaha steaks… I don’t want to say negative things about a previous employer but Y’know
Make sure you use a promo code
Or… maybe they don’t have the time, or the skill set to cook.
Or maybe they are going to graduate school and working full time, and supporting a friend going through cancer treatments and sleeping about 4 hrs a night.
So just maybe there are other factors that may have people buy this instead of cooking a meal. And yes there are people who would buy this just cause they have more time than sense, but… maybe not…
That said - anyone have this before, is it reasonably tasty?? Turkey moist or dried out?? (the whole foods turkey is dried out after reheating unfortunately)
BTW if you go to omaha steaks site, you can add all this to cart for $93. So not a real deal in the sense of a deal, and NOT really 47% off.
Can’t really comment on this deal, although I will say I bought an Omaha Steaks ham a couple of years ago off their website when I had a gift card for them. It was pretty decent.
Real reason I’m here is "Hey Woot, when are you going to stop using wine.woot and use gourmet. woot for these listings? " Some web filtering blocks wine.woot because alcohol I’m guessing. Time to update your site.
If this is anything like their steaks, don’t. Just don’t. My parents got suckered into a box, the most pathetic steaks I’ve ever seen. Not even a sous vide could save them.
Word.
Throw back joke, but will this run on my mac?
I subscribed to Hello Fresh for a few months until they lost one of my boxes and when it got here it looked like it had tumbled down a hill and was all thawed out. They were astonishingly stubborn in not giving me a refund. They offered a $10 off coupon on a future order but never ever gave me the refund on the ruined food. They even fought the CC charge-back. Ridiculous.
But up to that point the food was good and pretty simple to prepare.
That date is automatically calculated by our system. The vendor has committed to having them to you by Thanksgiving.
Yeah, turns out it’s really not easy to change a domain when it hits places all through your code. Sorry about that.
You still have to cook this. You don’t have to prepare it, but you do still need to cook it. Look… it’s people’s money and they can do with it whatever they want, but…
In your examples, maybe forgo the overpriced food and just do something simple. You know, everything doesn’t have to be grand to be great. The original Thanksgivings weren’t about showmanship. They were about thanking God for what He had given them. People today sometimes forget that… I’m just saying.
Either way, you have a happy Thanksgiving
Um…yeah…if by “cooking” you mean “warming up.” I didn’t study the specs in intricate detail but I believe this stuff is already cooked. I could probably put together a comparable pre-cooked meal from any decent grocery store for less money.
But people’s situations are different, if they feel ordering this over-priced TV-dinner saves them some stress, why not?
I agreed with that.
I guess I’m just pointing out the (not so?) obvious…
One year my daughter wanted to go to Cracker Barrel for Thanksgiving. OMG. THERE ARE ABOUT 1 BILLION PEOPLE that go to my Cracker Barrel on Thanksgiving. It was crazy.
