SO. MUCH. MEAT.

That’s what she said!

My Flannery hangers and Wagyu sliders arrived today.

Wonder how these would compare?

$19 per pound seems like a lot, particularly considering 60% of it is burgers, hot dogs, and chicken breast.

Now I’m hungry. Thanks WD.

$233 list price? Give me a break. Even if you give a generous $80 of that price for shipping costs this still isn’t worth $153 considering how little actual steak there is. I appreciate having something different for a change but not enough to buy it.

Edit: I just checked the actual Omaha Steaks website that you were so kind as to link to. This is available there minus the steak seasoning and plus 16oz of steak fries for $110 and free shipping. I’d rather have the steak fries over the steak seasoning but I guess this is a slightly better deal than ordering directly from Omaha Steaks.

The “list price” would put the price per pound at $44.

The All-American Celebration deals in June are where it’s at:

All American Celebration + 4 Free Burgers 1 $59.99 $59.99
4 (5 oz.) Top Sirloins
4 (4 oz.) Boneless Pork Chops
2 (4.5 oz.) Stuffed Sole with Scallops and Crabmeat
4 (5 oz.) Filet Mignons
8 (4 oz.) Omaha Steaks Burgers
4 (3 oz.) Gourmet Jumbo Franks
8 Potatoes au Gratin

Click on the “nutrition” ( if you can call it that) facts link for the hot dogs. Those suckers weigh in at 240 calls & 780 mg of sodium per dog!! That’s absurd. Obviously they’re not using the good left over bits for those.

Drop the dogs and seasoning (nothing beats Flavor God seasonings!) from the equation and that’s 16 pieces of meet for $100 + the $5 shipping. Comes to roughly $6.56 per piece. Not bad really. Assuming you have room in your freezer.

I think you’d be surprised at just how little space this selection takes up. A 5 ounce steak fits in the palm of your hand.

Love me some woot wine, but seriously take your $99 to Winn Dixie, a local butcher shop, or [gasp] even Walmart first and see what kind of steak deals you can get.

Lots of hype just like the Flavor God seasonings. Nothing locally or in your cabinet you can’t make or use that’s more tasty and healthy.

I think I would purchase from wine.woot more often if somebody could convince the delivery man to actually ring my doorbell before leaving the “missed delivery” post-it (even when my car is in the driveway).

Wow. Woot has officially jumped the shark.

My father gets me an omaha assortment every year for my birthday. We’ve received these packages before. My honest advice is to skip the assortments with the hot dogs/chicken/potatoes, etc. Their frozen steaks are flavorful and convenient.

The other items are pedestrian and are probably there to increase the profit margin on the assortment. I enjoy their steaks, the rest is meh and probably a waste of money.

Go to the butcher at Publix and have him build the same package - should be around $60.00, and not frozen. The filets in this offer are tiny.

As someone who eats a low carb diet, and has lost about 55 pounds doing so, I love hot dogs like this. Nothing wrong with them. Eat them when I want something different.

On the other hand, I can easily eat a pound of meat at a sitting. So our family would go through this entire order in a day (except chicken breasts, which I can’t stand; ate way too many of those dry tasteless things in my 3+ decades of low fat).

8 Steaks and a bunch of burgers, franks, and chicken…

Maybe they should throw in some K-Cups and HP ink cartridges…

Not even close. Omaha Steaks is all marketing. Stay far away.
