There is no such thing as a “DUMB” question. These are complicated decisions. So, if you have a question, please ask. Chances are your question will also help many other Woot forum people.

I’m a composer / sound designer and am tempted by the BD750 bookshelf pair. Would these be suitable as a pair of professional reference monitors for studio use? The line seems to be marketed towards home theaters so I was wondering if they have a strong ‘color’ to them or if they are pretty flat? Thanks
I hate to post this here ,but I don’t know what else to do.I had a speaker damaged in shipping and I contacted Woot customer. Service and here are some of the replies I have received.Atfer sending first email to Woot here is where it starts
8/20 8.32 am I receive an email telling me to contact Pinnacle for replacement of defective speaker. I email the back and tell them. The speaker was damaged in shipping.
8/20 12.25 pm I receive an email from Woot Customer Serive rep Alex telling me replacement on the way and gives me an RMA #
8/20 5.56 email from. Robb at WCS saying will replace speaker after receiving damaged speaker, with a case number. I email him to ask about earlier email stating speaker is being shipped, this starts a new case #
8/20 7.33 I receive another email with a new case # and letting me know they are looking into this? I email them again.
8/21 7.33 I receive another email with another case number.stating they are looking into it
8/22 5.52 pm I get an email stating speaker has shipped with order number .
Then on 8/23. 11.06 pm I get an email form WCS member Calvin saying out of stock and cannot send replacement.i don’t dare send another email to woot CS ,I tried of receiving new case numbers. I am waiting until Tuesday, to see if a replacement speaker arrives and I am checking my CC Company to make sure they don’t try and bill me for the damaged speaker. I post this here hoping to receive an answer .
I was wondering if you have power response and freq response data available on the BD1100 and twr 1050? I was able to find a fairly thorough review of the bd1000s. I’m very sensitive to highs and have only a 85w/ch receiver for an 15x15x9 room, so I was wondering if the crossovers are significantly different in the 1100s or the 1050s from the early 1000s?
AH review of the older model BD1000s (not the model offered here)
This Woot offer has put some very nice speakers tantalizingly close to my means…

I’m unsure as to why you have yet to received your replacement.
I’ve gone ahead and forwarded your post and information along to Woot Member Services to investigate
the issue.
Thank you for your continued patience during this matter.
You should hopefully receive a response very soon.

It is very helpful–exact;y the information I need. Any of the speakers in the front are easy, but the rear speakers confound me. Our building and design really prohibits running wires to the rear of the viewing area-- finished concrete slab floor, plastered strawbale walls, SIP panel ceiling (with a clerestory area that would be prohibitive even if the SIP panels were not). Are there any wireless options? I think I may be looking for a miracle here… Thanks again, Kathy

Hi Kathy,
Generally I would seek something in our line up to address the situation, but I do think a wireless option for rear channel is your best bet Keep in mind wireless will still need a outlet to plug into. I think you should pick up all other components and see how your system sounds before getting rear channel. Since you listen to music. The rear will not be needed for music. Only needed for movies. SO I SUGGEST START WITH EVERYTHING ELSE, THEN PICK UP REAR LATER FOR MOVIES IF YOU NEED IT.

Hi,
Model BD1100 replaced model BD1000. BD 1100 will have same tweeter and have cimparable midrange and better upper mid bass. Low end extension is greater on BD 1000, due to larger woofers, but use of a powerewed subwoofer more than offsets that. 85W is plenty of power especially in the space you have. I think BD1100 front with BD700 center is exceptional. Baby Boomer is best sub choice for music, PS SUB 225 is good on home theater. Finally crossover quality is same between bd1000 and bd1100 but crossover points are different based in different speaker parts.

Bd 750ll ate absolutely ideal as studio reference Monitors and are indeed near field monitors for studio use. They are designed primarily for music and are not excentuated in the high end. However, these days a home theater set up is typical so if you do a great job on music, the Home Thrater use is easy. Without question I am certain BD750ll will astound you for accuracy and detail in the studio application. They are exceptional music speakers and our best reference shelf monitor. These event prices are a steal and we must limit quantities at the prices. They stack up quite well to anything up to $2000/pair or more. Strongly recommended,
This will take the stupid question of the board award for sure.
I just bought a turntable and am looking to hook it up via it’s attached aux cord to a terrific single speaker. Which of these would work and would you recommend?
This is not a dumb question at all. MY sense is the Turntable hooks to an audio receiver, from there any quality speaker can work well. Specifically I suggest SFITMON 450 or BD 750ll as our best music speaker in a shelf format. But I If it hooks to a powered speaker none of ours are designed for music, rather our powered SOUNDBARS are TV speakers.
I’m not sure this is the right place for an issue like this, but I’ve been neglecting to reach out and I saw your wonderful offer of support!
I purchased the “Baby Boomer” in the last sale – and it’s AMAZING! Great, tight sound. LOUD, and clear.
One problem: It has a nasty hum at idle. Loud enough to be noticeable over quiet conversation in a surround movie. I’ve tried moving various power sources and cables further away, to no avail - the hum persists. Even disconnecting the source cable altogether doesn’t solve the problem.
Currently the device is connected into a monster power cleaner more than rated for the capacity. Any ideas? Any known faults in recent production?
It’s a hell of a product, even including the hum. But any help would be graciously accepted. I’ll also use official support channels
I’m thinking about an upgrade to the whole system with Pinnacle, so if you could ping me back ASAP that’d help me out!

Hi and thanks for your purchase and the question.
I suspect the volume control on the BABY BOOMER subwoofer is up fairly high. So, I suggest you cut back the volume from the subwoofer control, and instead increase the subwoofer volume on the receiver control. I think that will adjust for the issue.
