PWA: Another thread older, but less mature...

Everybody doesn’t like something
But nobody doesn’t like Sara Lee

i’d do her.

American pie all over again.

Do we need to give you a sobriety test after your dessert?

Pears, I could go for. Don’t know what poaching does to the flavor though.

And one side of the closet is done. Break time.

American Reunion is at the dollar theater close to here. It’s on my list to see.

Are you old enough to have watched Columbo?

Heck yeah. All three of the Sunday Night Movie rotations: Columbo, McMillan & Wife, and McCloud. I have McMillan and Wife on DVD.

While I was watching The Avengers, every time Dr. Banner was on, I kept thinking Columbo.

Sandals for each kid - check
closed toed summer shoes because Ver2 and Ver3 are about to pop out the end of their tennis shoes - check
extra pair of dress sandals for Ver1 and Ver2 because they were cute and only $6 - check

I don’t have to buy ANY shoes for 3 months, right?

Now to watch Star Wars. I would have the Blu-ray version, if they’d just stick the original movie on it, without all the changes.

You have a better memory of it than me, obviously. Can you explain?

The way he looked, the way he moved, his expressions, head movement, all reminded me of Peter Falk in his trenchcoat.

Minus the squinty eye, I can see that.

McMillan & Wife was my favorite of the 3. Columbo was probably 3rd.

I didn’t watch McMillan, just Columbo and McCloud.

Ok, closet is cleaned out. 4 bags to take somewhere tomorrow. I was way overdue on doing that. Should have done before I moved here but didn’t have time with the short closing.

Night all. Tomorrow.

Howdy PWA. Speaking of decks, here are some pictures of the deck I built at my house. In Poland, most people just have a concrete patio, they don’t make too many wood decks like in the US. When we have guests, they see the deck and say: Oh, it is a US style deck. It is about 700 sq feet. Last year we had a party to celebrate the completion of the deck, we had 65 people and it was no problem to have them all on the deck. I made the supporting structure from metal because I have always wanted to build a deck that way and actually metal here is cheaper than wood in the larger sizes! The supports will last pretty much forever and if I have to I can always replace any rotted deck boards. I had to use screws of course, I probably used more than 5,000 screws for everything. I want to build some benches along the walls of the deck and a couple of other things, but it is pretty much finished.

The next project is a swimming pool behind the deck with more deck connecting the pool to the main deck. The pool will be in the ground and eventually I will build over it so we can use it more than just the 3 months of summer. I am going to put a solar panel on the roof of the house to heat the water for the pool.

Now I am making the fence across the front of our yard. I used 135 pickets for the whole thing. I used metal for the support frame of the fence, again, I want it to last a while and the metal won’t rot and sag as it gets older. Well, I have to go and build the driveway gate for the front fence. I have to make some concrete to anchor the rollers for the gate. What fun!

Very nice job!
Question: Won’t the square tubing that is laying directly on the ground rust and rot fairly quickly?

Good morning all.
Going to watch the Rangers/ Blue Jays game today. If yesterday’s game is an indicator it will be Mrs. Ice and not I who goes home happy.
It’s going to be in the mid 90’s so hopefully our seat will be shaded enough we don’t bake.
