Shark ION Robovac w/ Wi-Fi Control (S+D)

Shark ION Robovac w/ Wi-Fi Control (S+D)

Anyone have positive experiences with refurbished vacuums?

I bought the shark robotic vacuum a few months ago - refurb but not S&D - for $99. I have (at the moment) 4 dogs, two of which are Great Pyrenees/St Bernard mixes with fur (hair, really) longer than my shiny blonde tresses. The vacuum is a BEAST and the BEST $99 I’ve ever spent.

Transparency: I run it nightly / clean it daily. I wash or replace the filter, screen and brush far more frequently than the recommended schedule because my dogs are also beasts. And because cleaning those parts is so easy. I can be lazy like that. Anyway, it cannot begin to replace the full size vacuum on my thick, shag carpet and it is challenged by the height of said carpet, sometimes thinking it’s at a stair when it senses the edge.

BUT for the hard floors and sucking up the daily messes between actual deep vacuuming, the refurbished one has been great (and Woot support has been great). It’s truly been a game changer so I’m going to buy this one for my lower level (no carpeting).

Woot support: can I purchase an extended warranty for this item?

I bought refurb ecobot robo vac about 6 months ago. Other than the box, I never would have known it was used. It has worked flawlessly every time it has run.

Remember the difference between s+d and refurb. My best advice, don’t let it sit in the box once it arrives. If it is going to have issues, they will be present immediately.

Dumb question, but is it better to be refurbished or scratch & dent?

@ThunderThighs

Hi there. The SquareTrade warranty widget is at the top of the features but requires Flash. :w_eyeroll1:

(We’re in the process of replacing that Widget. Yes, we know about Flash)

Square trade sucks. It isn’t worth the amount of $$ you pay. It’s easy to by the warranty. But it’s very difficult to get someone on the phone when said warranty item has failed and needs service.

Ugh. Mine just arrived. Woot sold me an RV750, yet shipped me an RV750_N.

The RV_750N is…

Lower quality
Lacks the spot clean option.
Has single brush side brushes.
Lower quality filter
Cheaper internals (motor and gearing)
Uses different replacement parts.

Not cool. Second order in a row from Woot with problems.

Hi there. I’m very sorry. Double check that they didn’t use that case though. We’ve had that in the past where irobot used whatever case was handy.

If it’s no go, reach out to Woot! Customer Service.

I just received the refurbished Shark ION Robotic Vac. The instructions mention a BotBoundry strip to stop the machine from entering certain areas, but I’m not finding it in the box. Is this supposed to come with, or do I need to order separately?

Hi there. There should have been one according to the sale:

In the box:

  • Shark ION Robot Vacuum with Wi-Fi Control, RV750 (Scratch and Dent)
  • Charging Base
  • Charging Adaptor
  • Bot Boundary Strip
  • Bot Boundary Connectors

If you’re not finding it, reach out to Woot! Customer Service.

I did reach out to customer service. They gave me some terrible options to pick from and were not very helpful at all. Not ideal.

I’m probably going to return mine as in addition to:

  1. Not being the right model
  2. Not including parts listed on the website (my boundary connectors were missing also)

…it is also not even close to ā€œFactory Reconditionedā€ This is a used vacuum thrown in a box (and the wrong one.) Is stutters while it does it’s job like you would expect an old car to rattle down the road.

I wonder what ā€œReconditioningā€ took place? That was a joke BTW, all Woot did was take my money and waste my time. I know this thing was not ā€˜reconditioned’. It looks like something you might take a 10 dollar risk on if you found it in a thrift store.

The worst part is… I passed on other robot vacuum deals during (probably) the best shopping time in the US.

I’m sorry for the problems. They can help you with a pre-paid return label for a full refund.

Ok, I know nobody is probably reading this, but I have to add even more details!

So the third time I ran this thing it kept getting stuck in the middle of nowhere saying the brush roller was stuck. So I took it apart and the non-powered side of the roller (capped with a rubber-like material) was loaded with matted hair. There is zero chance this hair was from my home. It was LOADED from what looks like weeks or months of use without maintenance.

So this ā€œreconditioned S&Dā€ model that Woot sold me wasn’t even properly cleaned before shipping it. I mean, ā€œreconditionedā€ would imply inspection right?, and the brushes and rollers of a vacuum are pretty paramount.

ā€œThese items are expected to have a moderate level of wear & tear including (but not limited to) scratches, dents, and dings. Outside of their physical appearance, they have been tested to be in full working condition.ā€

This absolutely cannot be true. Either Woot is lying in the product description, or the supplier is lying to Woot. Regardless, it is Woot’s responsibility to provide clear honest descriptions of the products it sells and to ensure that customers receive the actual items they purchase. They failed on both accounts.

I tell you, this is so disappointing. Pre-paid return label? Yay! I get to:

  1. Find a printer
  2. Cut the stupid thing out and tape it to the box.
  3. Load everything up and drop it off at UPS

And what do I get for my trouble? A refund of the money Woot! took from me when they sold me someone else’s trash! So disappointing…

Sent me inferior, non fully working item. I ordered the RV750, yet Woot shipped me an RV750_N like another poster. After trying unsuccessfully to get the unit to work on wifi using all the web references, I contacted the manufacturer who told me that I was doing everything correctly but that the units wifi component wasn’t functioning. What a waste of my time for a ā€œfactory reconditionedā€ unit. As another poster mentioned,

The RV_750N is…

Lower quality
Lacks the spot clean option.
Has single brush side brushes.
Lower quality filter
Cheaper internals (motor and gearing)
Uses different replacement parts.
